Launching the 2025 Journalism Award on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas

The 3rd National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas of Vietnam - 2025 aims to contribute to summarizing the results achieved after 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (term 2021 - 2026) on "ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers"; the implementation of Resolution No. 19 - NQ/TW on agriculture, farmers and rural areas to 2030, with a vision to 2045, along with the Party and State's guidelines and policies on agriculture, farmers and rural areas in the new situation.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Bui Thi Thom, Head of the Steering Committee of the award, said: The award was launched in a very special context when the Party and the State are urgently directing the implementation of the organization of the apparatus; reorganizing administrative units at all levels; building a model of organizing a 2-level local government in the spirit of Resolution 60-NQ/TW of the 11th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee; at the same time, focusing on directing the preparation of conditions for organizing party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th Party Congress. In addition, the Politburo and the Party Central Committee have just issued 4 major resolutions considered the "Quad Pillars", including Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation in the fields of agriculture and rural areas; Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on developing the private economy.

“These are new and very important Resolutions that directly impact the development of agriculture and farmers, and are also the driving force for the success of the award. Therefore, we expect that the 3rd National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas of Vietnam - 2025 will continue to receive many outstanding works on current issues of agriculture, farmers and rural areas,” Ms. Bui Thi Thom emphasized.

This year's press award has the theme "Breakthrough in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in agriculture and rural areas according to Resolution No. 57 - NQ/TW of the Politburo". The organization of the award aims to create a forum and playground for professional and non-professional writers, including journalists, experts and readers, to express and comprehensively reflect on issues of agriculture, farmers and rural areas in Vietnam; focusing on some main contents such as: enhancing the role, position, capacity to master, comprehensively improving the material and spiritual life of farmers and rural residents; developing effective and sustainable agriculture in an ecological direction, applying advanced science and technology, improving quality and added value; strongly developing industry and services, shifting economic structure, creating on-site jobs for rural workers; building rural areas in a modern direction associated with urbanization.

Regarding the award structure, this year it is expected that there will be 43 awards with a total value of 515 million VND. Specifically, the awards for print and electronic newspapers include: 1 A prize (worth 50 million VND), 2 B prizes (worth 25 million VND/prize), 3 C prizes (worth 15 million VND/prize), 5 Encouragement prizes (worth 7 million VND/prize). Awards for television and radio include: 1 A prize (worth 50 million VND), 2 B prizes (worth 25 million VND/prize), 3 C prizes (worth 15 million VND/prize), 5 Encouragement prizes (worth 7 million VND/prize). Thematic awards include 10 awards for different categories, each award worth 5 million VND. The specific name of each award will be announced by the Organizing Committee after the final round.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union chaired and assigned the Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet electronic newspaper to launch the "Writing contest to learn about the tradition of the Vietnam Farmers' Union 95 years of establishment and growth October 14, 1930 - October 14, 2025" with specific contents/topics: The birth of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and its role in the revolutionary movement; Contributions of farmers in the cause of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas; The movement of farmers competing in good production and business and outstanding achievements; The Farmers' Union in the national target program on new rural construction; The role of the Farmers' Union in developing high-tech agriculture and digital economy...

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee also launched the 4th "Memories of Hanoi" Writing Contest - 2025, organized by Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper/Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports. The main theme of the contest is "The Capital in the Era of Rising". The Organizing Committee will prioritize realistic articles about the outstanding achievements of the Capital in the process of innovation and development; articles that discover and suggest good and meaningful ways for the Capital Hanoi to develop remarkably.
