The Farmers' Association of U Minh Thuong district aims to develop 5,000 members.

Delegates cast their votes to elect the Executive Committee of the U Minh Thuong District Farmers' Association for the 2023-2028 term.

During the 2018-2023 term, U Minh Thuong district established 12 professional farmers' groups and 8 professional farmers' branches, achieving 150% of the resolution's target; developed 3,918 new members, achieving 142.5% of the resolution's target, raising the total number of members to 7,770, accounting for 64% of agricultural households.

The movement for solidarity, mutual assistance, and sustainable poverty reduction has been actively embraced by farmers in U Minh Thuong district. Farmers' associations at both levels, in coordination with relevant agencies, have mobilized contributions to build 45 solidarity houses, with a total construction cost exceeding 2 billion VND; and have helped 244 member households and farmers escape poverty. Five new cooperatives and 30 cooperative groups have been established, bringing the total number in the district to 10 cooperatives and 52 cooperative groups.

During the past term, the district had 11,724 households recognized as excellent farmers in production and business at various levels; of which, 741 households achieved the title at the central level, 2,462 households at the district level, and 8,506 at the commune level.

The Farmers' Association at both levels has provided good advice to Party committees at all levels in the work of propaganda and mobilization to build the district's farmers' support fund, achieving many positive results. To date, all 6 grassroots associations have fund mobilization committees, having raised over 1 billion VND (reaching 102% of the resolution's target), through which loans totaling 635 million VND have been provided to 43 households for economic development...

For the 2023-2028 term, with the theme "Unity - Innovation - Integration - Development," the two-level Farmers' Association of U Minh Thuong district will continue to promote patriotic emulation movements; and at the same time participate in building mechanisms and policies for the development of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas; paying special attention to the legitimate rights and interests of its members and farmers.

The goal is to develop 5,000 new members by the end of the term, reaching 85% or more of agricultural households and 60% or more of the target group of farmers. 100% of branches will establish their own funds, and each branch will strive to have an operating fund of 100,000 VND per member per year. Coordination efforts will be undertaken to establish 5 cooperatives; 2 branches and 5 professional farmer groups; and 10 cooperative groups managed by farmer members. All levels of the association will directly mobilize resources to build 5 or more solidarity houses.

Each year, 60% of agricultural households register for the title of "Excellent Farmer in Production and Business" at all levels, with 50% of registered households achieving the required status; each association branch builds and maintains at least one model for environmental protection and adaptation to climate change…

Mr. Dang Xuan Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the District People's Council of U Minh Thuong District, presented a banner to the congress.

On this occasion, the U Minh Thuong District Party Committee presented a banner with the inscription "Unity - Innovation - Integration - Development" to the congress; the Chairman of the District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 10 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the work of the Farmers' Association and the farmers' movement during the 2018-2023 term.
