Recently, the Women's Union at all levels of Thang Binh district has organized forums and dialogues to promptly grasp the needs and aspirations of women who need support to develop the economy to escape poverty sustainably.
In 2024, the Women's Union of Thang Binh district and 22 establishments in communes and towns built new and repaired houses for 64 poor women's households, and provided livelihoods with 11 breeding cows, 31 breeding pigs, more than 700 breeding chickens, bamboo rats... with a cost of more than 2.1 billion VND.
In the 4 years of 2021 - 2024, the District Women's Union coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thang Binh district to build new and repair houses for 316 poor households, provide livelihoods for 83 poor households and help 229 households escape poverty, contributing to reducing the poverty rate of the whole district.
On November 15, 2021, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union launched the "Godmother" program. Just over 3 months later, the Women's Union of Thang Binh district organized the program, calling on 55 organizations and individuals to sponsor 82 orphans.
Through the program, up to now, the whole district of Thang Binh has had 299 children sponsored by organizations and individuals with monthly sponsorship amounts ranging from 300,000 VND to 1 million VND.
Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Trang - President of the Women's Union of Thang Binh district said: "We believe that the "Godmother" program will be extended and spread in the community, helping orphans have more motivation to rise up."
In 2024, the Women's Union of Thang Binh district took the lead in the women's start-up movement in the whole province with many activities such as: organizing the festival "Women's creative start-up and green transformation" in Thang Binh district; organizing the 6th "Creative start-up ideas for women in Thang Binh" contest - 2024 with 10 winning ideas. At the same time, mobilizing women to participate in the provincial creative start-up competition with 2 ideas winning consolation prizes.
The Women's Union of Thang Binh district mobilized Ms. Diep Thi Thao Trang - Director of Thang Binh High-tech Agricultural Cooperative to participate in the "Women's creative start-up and green transformation" contest at the Central region level in 2024 and won an encouragement prize with the project "Application of high technology in the production of fresh vegetables and fruits and processed products from vegetables in the direction of green transformation to adapt to climate change in Thang Binh district, Quang Nam".
Recently, the District Women's Union and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thang Binh District have had a plan to coordinate and assign tasks to help poor households escape poverty sustainably.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thang Binh district said that the Women's Union of Thang Binh district selected priority issues suitable for each group of women, effectively implemented key tasks, targets and emulation movements, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
