The 30th Conference of Party Newspapers of provinces and cities in the Northern region

The workshop was attended by delegates from 23 Party newspapers of the northern provinces and cities and representatives of some press agencies of the central and southern provinces. In his opening speech, Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper Nguyen Minh Duc emphasized that in the context of the world entering the era of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution with profound and comprehensive changes in all areas of social life, our country is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges.

Our entire Party and people are striving to achieve two 100-year goals: By 2030, the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding, to become a developing country with modern industry and high average income. By 2045, the 100th anniversary of the country's founding, to become a developed country with high income.

To realize that aspiration, the Party Central Committee and General Secretary To Lam initiated and directed the implementation of a revolution to streamline the apparatus, reorganize administrative units and organize two-level local governments. The new situation places an urgent requirement on the Vietnamese press to strongly and comprehensively innovate, constantly improve the quality of content and form, and meet the increasingly high and diverse information needs of the public.

In particular, in the strong flow of the digital revolution, digital transformation is no longer a trend, but a vital requirement for every press agency. The Party newspaper system, as the voice of the Party Committee, the government and the people of localities, more than anyone else must pioneer in the digital transformation process, strongly applying information technology and artificial intelligence to press activities, creating attractive, multimedia press products that spread strongly, contributing to orienting public opinion, strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State.

Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Nguyen Doan Toan said that the workshop with the theme "Promoting the tradition of revolutionary journalism, pioneering digital transformation, accompanying the country into the new era" is an important forum for Party press agencies to exchange and share experiences, and together find solutions to improve the quality of journalism activities in the context of comprehensive digital transformation.

Hanoi City is deeply aware of the especially important role and position of the press in the cause of building and developing the capital and always pays attention to and creates all favorable conditions for the press to operate effectively.

Believing that with a strong political stance and glorious tradition, the team of revolutionary journalists will continue to promote their pioneering role in digital transformation, actively contributing to the cause of building the Capital and the country to become increasingly rich, civilized and modern.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing and analyzing the role of the press in carrying out the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against hostile forces; enhancing the combativeness of local Party newspapers; the opportunities and challenges of Party press agencies in the digital age...

35 presentations from press agencies, departments, branches and localities at the conference all affirmed that the conference's theme was good, close to reality and close to the propaganda work of the press. It expressed the message of the Party press agencies with the determination to unite, overcome all difficulties and challenges, promptly adapt, develop and continuously contribute to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

Speaking at the conference, Party Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh said that with the strong development of science and technology, artificial intelligence (AI) is playing a particularly important role in the digital transformation process of journalism in particular and is an inevitable trend for news agencies to innovate and develop.

To successfully carry out digital transformation and effectively promote the strengths of AI, press agencies in general and the Party newspaper system in particular must continuously innovate to meet the increasing needs of readers through continuous thinking, innovation, creativity and the creation of new and attractive press products to attract readers, especially in the context of strong social network development as today.

Appreciating the digital transformation efforts of press agencies and the Party newspaper system, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh believes that press agencies will have strong development steps, meeting the increasing needs of readers in the new period.

In addition, the press system is currently entering a phase of reorganization, innovation, and streamlining of the apparatus according to the policy of the Politburo and the Secretariat. Press agencies will certainly face many difficulties, but the reorganization will also open up new development opportunities.

The President of the Vietnam Journalists Association affirmed that despite major changes after the reorganization and streamlining, the Party newspaper system still maintains its pivotal role in the revolutionary press system; continues its mission of guiding the public, bringing the Party newspaper system to strong development in the new period.

Within the framework of the 30th Northern Provincial Party Newspaper Conference, Hanoi Moi Newspaper solemnly organized the launching ceremony of a special page to promote "Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress" - an important event, marking a turning point in the newspaper's information and propaganda work.

The website was built to focus on disseminating the results of the implementation of the Resolution of the 17th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee, the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Party as well as important resolutions from the central to local levels. The main goal is to provide official and timely information on the preparation and organization of party congresses at all levels, especially the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee and the 14th Congress of the Party - important political events of the country.
