Appreciating the initiative to organize the Workshop on Digital Economy and Digital Society Development in Phu Tho Province in 2024 by the Department of Information and Communications, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Quang affirmed: Determining digital transformation as a long-term strategy, creating new growth momentum contributing to the sustainable development of the province; In recent years, with the determination of the entire political system, Phu Tho province has made many efforts to implement digital transformation on 3 pillars: Digital government, digital economy, digital society with the motto of digital government taking the lead, creating momentum to promote digital transformation in all economic and social fields.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Quang emphasized: Within the framework of the workshop, the Provincial People's Committee hopes that speakers and businesses will share good models and experiences; solutions and orientations for the development of digital economy and digital society in Phu Tho province, especially the following issues: Developing digital infrastructure; building shared databases, specialized databases, combining to promote the implementation of Project 06 of the Government; ensuring information security, database safety when sharing; developing human resources; mechanisms, policies, solutions for developing digital economy, digital society, promoting digital transformation for people and businesses.

He requested the Department of Information and Communications - the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Digital Transformation to absorb and study the solutions provided by speakers and businesses; advise the Provincial People's Committee to deploy mechanisms, policies, plans, and strategies for developing the digital economy and digital society in the province to ensure effectiveness and suitability with reality.

Information technology enterprises continue to accompany Phu Tho province in implementing digital transformation tasks; proactively approach enterprises, cooperatives, and business households in the province to consult on appropriate digital solutions to innovate management models, organize production and business to increase productivity, improve product quality, increase revenue and profit for enterprises.

In 2023, Phu Tho will make a "breakthrough" in the work of building digital government, specifically: Phu Tho province's administrative reform index PAR INDEX ranked 9th out of 63 provinces and cities; in which the index of building and developing e-government and digital government was assessed to have improved positively compared to previous years. In particular, Phu Tho province's provincial competitiveness index PCI in 2023 ranked 10th in the group of 30 localities with the best governance quality; ranked 2nd in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region (after Bac Giang province).

In the field of digital economy and digital society, the province has promptly issued the Development Plan for 2025, with a vision to 2030, and the Decision to issue the Program to support businesses in digital transformation in the province. The development of Internet infrastructure, digital payments and digital platforms has achieved positive results.

In 2023, the proportion of the digital economy will reach 12.5%, ranking 10th in the country. As of October 2024, the proportion of e-commerce in total retail sales will reach 9.7%, an increase of 1.2% over the same period in 2023; the proportion of digital economic workers will reach 4.9%, an increase of 0.7% over 2023; the proportion of the population aged 15 and over with an electronic payment account will be 73.9%, an increase of 6.7% over 2023; the proportion of mobile subscribers using smartphones is estimated at 87.5%, an increase of 3.43% over 2023; The rate of households with broadband fiber optic cable is estimated at 76.77%, an increase of 4.83% compared to 2023. The above figures show progress in accessing and using digital services by people and businesses.

The organization and implementation of the Project "Developing the application of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period of 2022 - 2025, with a vision to 2030" (Project 06) has brought about many positive results. The whole province has issued over 1.3 million citizen identification cards, 979 thousand electronic identification accounts; completed the entry of civil status data on the National Population Database with 1,183,176 data, contributing to promoting the exploitation of utilities from Project 06 and logging in to resolve administrative procedures through online public services. 100% of medical facilities implement medical examination and treatment using citizen identification cards, VNeID; 70% of patients use citizen identification cards, VNeID to replace health insurance cards; Implement cashless payments in tuition collection at educational institutions, pension payments, and policies for meritorious people.

At the workshop, businesses specializing in digital platforms and technologies displayed, introduced, and promoted digital transformation products, platforms, and digital technology solutions; discussed and proposed solutions for developing the digital economy and digital society, and discussed and answered questions related to this content. Thereby, creating a space for exchange, sharing, and practical experience for businesses in Phu Tho province.
