(ABO) On October 29, at Coi Anh Thi, My Tho City, Tien Giang Provincial Ornamental Plants Association and Western Sunbird Club 63 organized the 3rd Open Yellow-bellied Sunbird Singing Competition in 2023. The competition attracted many artists from provinces and cities to bring their birds to compete.

This is the third time the contest has been held in My Tho City, Tien Giang Province and has attracted 65 yellow-bellied 5-color sunbirds from the provinces: Ben Tre , Long An, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Tien Giang, etc. The contest is an opportunity for those who share the same passion to admire beautiful sunbirds, listen to their singing, and watch them spread their shells and flap their wings very uniquely.

According to the competition criteria of the contest, all birds are hung on the rack, each bird has a corresponding registration number, the Board of Judges will select and gradually eliminate after each round, to choose birds with beautiful smooth feathers, good singing - chirping; beautiful jumping - spreading wings - flapping wings - spreading tails... to award prizes, including 1 First prize, 1 Second prize, 2 Third prizes, 6 Encouragement prizes and 10 prizes for the top 20, 30, 40...

Chairman of Tien Giang Province Ornamental Plants Association Pham Van Chinh said: In recent times, the ornamental plant movement in the province has been growing stronger with clubs such as: Orchid Club; Bonsai Club, Ornamental Fish Club... and the Yellow-bellied Sunbird Club is a new type. Therefore, the Association and the Club organize group activities and competitions to help members have a useful playground, and share better ways to tame this bird species.
