Members and women actively use electricity safely - economically

DTO - The Women's Union at all levels in the province has stepped up propaganda and mobilized cadres, members, women and people to actively use electricity safely - economically - effectively according to the coordination plan signed between Dong Thap Electricity Company and the Provincial Women's Union in March 2023.

Collectives and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Women's Union for their outstanding achievements in safe - economical - effective use of electricity in 2023.

The Women's Union at all levels propagates the integration of safe - economical - effective electricity use (using electricity-saving devices, installing anti-electric shock circuit breakers, regularly checking the electrical system...) through the meetings of the association, the association group, the club model, through social networks, fanpages, Zalo groups. Thereby, contributing to ensuring energy security and environmental protection in the province. The Provincial Women's Union coordinated with Dong Thap Electricity Company to organize a training course for 70 cadres and propagandists on propaganda work on safe - economical - effective electricity use in households, non-cash payment of electricity bills, dissemination of violations of electricity use and forms of punishment for electricity theft according to the law.

At the same time, Dong Thap Electricity Company coordinated with the Provincial Women's Union to organize training courses related to electrical safety. Specifically, representatives of Dong Thap Electricity Company provided instructions on measures to prevent electrical accidents; practiced some first aid procedures when people were electrocuted, contributing to the implementation of the National Target Program on economical and efficient use of energy. Ms. Nguyen Thi Van, residing in Thong Binh Commune, Tan Hong District, said: “During the process of participating in the savings capital pool, I listened to the colleagues at Dong Thap Electricity Company instruct me on how to use electricity safely; the advantages of using LED lights, Compact lights; turning off unnecessary electrical appliances when not in use, especially high-power appliances (water pumps, irons, air conditioners during peak hours). Therefore, when my family's light bulbs or electrical appliances are broken, I often replace them with energy-saving ones, so my family's electricity costs are lower than before.”

In addition, Dong Thap Electricity Company and the Provincial Women's Union jointly launched the contest "Households use electricity safely - economically - effectively" in 2023. As a result, 3,718 households registered to participate. Through the contest, it aims to encourage people to use electricity safely and save electricity in their daily lives. In particular, every month when receiving electricity bills, households will compare the current electricity consumption with the previous period to adjust their electricity usage appropriately. At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee decided to award Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Women's Union to 12 collectives and 12 individuals who are outstanding in using electricity safely - economically - effectively in 2023.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Hoa - Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, said: "To concretize the coordination plan between the Provincial Women's Union and Dong Thap Electricity Company, all levels of the Union in the province actively propagate, mobilize, and guide the safe - economical - effective use of electricity in households, which has been unanimously responded to by members, women, and people, bringing benefits to families and protecting the environment."

In 2024, the Provincial Women's Union will continue to coordinate with Dong Thap Electricity Company to organize propaganda activities on safe - economical - effective electricity use. Accordingly, organize training on propaganda skills, mobilize households to use the App, Zalo EVNSPC and collect information related to customers. Repair electricity, replace power lines and energy-saving LED lights for members and poor women in the area.

The Women's Union at all levels continues to maintain and build 362 new models of "Women's Electricity Saving Groups" with nearly 7,700 members. The model helps households access more information and methods in using electricity. Thereby, raising awareness, daily electricity usage habits, and alternative support devices in using electricity safely, economically and effectively.
