Hojlund runs out of excuses

In a match that required sharpness and efficiency at the front line, Hojlund mysteriously disappeared. Playing for 63 minutes, the Danish striker shocked everyone by touching the ball only 11 times, shooting on target only once, and making exactly two successful passes. He barely connected with his teammates, had no dribbles and did not win any duels.

What made the fans even more regretful was that Hojlund had the best chance in the first half, but his close-range shot went straight at the goalkeeper. Meanwhile, his replacement Joshua Zirkzee needed less than 30 minutes to score, contributing more and showing a completely opposite energy.

That comparison is a warning to Hojlund himself. Although he is young and possesses undeniable potential, he cannot rely on “belief” to be in the starting lineup forever. With his current form, Hojlund is the weak link that makes MU's attack become deadlocked.

Hojlund certainly needs more time to develop. But Manchester United cannot wait. They need a striker who can shine at the right time, create pressure and convert chances - something the current No. 9 is sorely lacking.

It is understandable when The Athletic revealed that the "Red Devils" are considering selling Hojlund if they receive a reasonable offer. The Old Trafford team is running out of patience with the Danish striker when he contributes extremely limitedly to the overall play.
