Since 2011, the Vietnam International Choir Competition has been organized every two years in Hoi An by Hoi An City ( Quang Nam Province) in collaboration with the INTERKULTUR Association (Germany). The event has left a deep impression and good feelings in the hearts of participating artists, people and tourists.
This year, the 8th Vietnam International Choir Competition took place from April 9 to 13 with the participation of 29 choirs with more than 1,000 artists from the following countries: Canada, Poland, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam.

At the competition, the groups will compete in 11 subjects in 7 categories with performances that both ensure the strict techniques and requirements of choir, and demonstrate the unique identity of each country that is the home of the choir.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh, Vice Chairman of Hoi An City People's Committee, said that the 8th Vietnam International Choir Competition - Hoi An 2025 is an outstanding music event with the Organizing Committee and Jury members having prestige in the world, high expertise and extensive experience. Along with that, the host of the competition, Hoi An City, is also highly appreciated for its organization and the hospitality of the local people.
The competition is an opportunity for Hoi An, Quang Nam, Vietnam to introduce its cultural and tourism images to international friends; an opportunity for artists to exchange and share experiences in the process of artistic creation, contributing to the development of global music; a cultural bridge between nations, contributing to spreading the appeal of choral art and strengthening friendship between participating countries.
"In particular, this international cultural event will enliven the "Hoi An Creative House" on its journey to join the UNESCO Global Creative Cities Network," Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh emphasized.
On the opening night of the 8th Vietnam International Choir Competition, a large audience was immersed in an emotional atmosphere of music and friendship with professional and unique performances from choirs and performances introducing the local culture of the host city of Hoi An.
