More than 200 reporters compete in the 11th Central Journalism Football Tournament

The big sports festival of journalists from the Central press will take place over 2 days (May 31 and June 1) in Da Nang City, with the participation of more than 200 journalists, reporters, and editors from 8 football teams.

Yesterday afternoon, May 28, in Da Nang City, the Organizing Committee of the 11th Central Press Football Tournament 2025 held a technical meeting, drew lots, divided groups and disseminated information related to the tournament.

The 11th Central Journalism Football Tournament was organized by the Danang Journalists Club (JFC Danang) in collaboration with the Danang Journalists Association. This is one of the activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), while also creating a healthy sports playground, increasing opportunities for exchanges and meetings between journalists in the provinces and cities of the Central - Central Highlands.

The tournament attracted more than 200 journalists, reporters, and editors from central and local press agencies of 8 football teams in the area: Thanh Hoa Newspaper FC, Nghe An Newspaper (Rclub Nghe An), Ha Tinh Newspaper Alliance, Quang Tri Newspaper Alliance, Hue Newspaper FC (Hue RC), Quang Nam Newspaper Alliance, Binh Dinh Newspaper Alliance and host JFC Danang.

According to the tournament rules, 8 teams are drawn into 2 groups of 4 teams each. The teams compete in a group stage to calculate ranking points.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the final to compete for the championship trophy. The second-placed teams in each group will play for third and fourth place. The third-placed teams in each group will play for fifth and sixth place. The bottom two teams will play for seventh and eighth place.

With this format, all teams participating in the tournament will play 4 matches equally.

The Organizing Committee held a technical meeting and drew lots to divide the groups. As a result, Group A included the host team JFC Danang, Binh Dinh Newspaper, Ha Tinh Newspaper, and Hue Newspaper. Group B included FC Bao Chi Nghe An, Quang Nam Newspaper, Quang Tri Newspaper, and Thanh Hoa Newspaper.

The tournament took place over two days, May 31 and June 1, at Tuyen Son Sports Village (Da Nang City). The opening ceremony took place on the morning of May 31.

The opening ceremony and all matches of the tournament will be broadcast live on the tournament's official fanpage and the 365live ecosystem as well as shared on fanpages and personal Facebook pages of groups and individuals working in the Central region.

The final match will take place on the afternoon of June 1, followed by a Gala night to award prizes and meet and greet between the teams.

Besides expertise, the tournament also creates resonance and connection between journalists in the region to reach out to the community.

Journalist Nguyen The Thinh, Chairman of the Danang Journalists Club (JFC), Head of the Organizing Committee of the 11th tournament, said that since 2015, the tournament has started to conduct social and charitable activities when held in Danang.

JFC Danang mobilized teams to donate more than 30 million VND to reporter Le Anh Son (Thanh Hoa). In 2016, the teams raised more than 30 million VND to support Vietnamese victims of traffic accidents in Laos. In 2017, about 30 million VND was donated to support difficult cases at Hue Children's Hospital. In 2018, from the money donated by the teams and the Organizing Committee, JFC Danang awarded 6 support gifts (each worth 5 million VND) to 2 students of Da Nang University of Education and 4 poor patients...

Since then, after each organization, from the contributions of the teams, the tournament's Organizing Committee has helped difficult cases (more than 30 million VND each year).
