More than 3,500 delegates discuss new vision for medical research

New vision in medical research and application is the theme of this year's science and technology conference

On the morning of May 9, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine opened the 18th Science and Technology Conference. More than 3,500 domestic and foreign delegates attended the conference on new visions in medical research and application.

Taking place from May 8-10 with 39 in-depth reporting sessions, the event attracted more than 3,500 delegates. Notably, many speakers were professors, associate professors, doctors, masters, specialists and leading experts from the country and abroad. The pre-conference session with the theme "Dental Implants" took place on May 8, the opening ceremony and plenary session were held on May 9. In particular, the conference session on smart healthcare gathered representatives from major hospitals and universities in health sciences in Ho Chi Minh City, opening up opportunities for multidisciplinary cooperation in the field of modern health care.

With the theme "New vision in medical research and application", the conference focused on prominent issues such as: medicaleducation research, basic and clinical medical research, advances in diagnosis and treatment, application of biotechnology, artificial intelligence in medicine and digital transformation in the medical industry. Some typical reports of the conference include: update on acute stroke treatment, update on diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders in 2025...

The school representative said that the annual event is an opportunity for scientists, lecturers, doctors and leading experts to share the latest research achievements, discuss trends and breakthrough solutions, thereby contributing to improving the quality of health care for the community.

"The conference will be a bridge between lecturers, researchers and medical teaching and practice units, contributing to promoting cooperation in the field of medical education, while opening up new development directions," the school representative added.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine was established under the Prime Minister's Decision in 2008. Formerly known as the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Training and Development of Health Staff, the school is a public university education institution under the direct management of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the professional management of the Ministry of Education and Training and the professional management of the Ministry of Health. The scientific and technological conference is one of the typical scientific activities to improve the quality of training and scientific research through updating modern medical advances.
