More than 300 patients received free eye surgery

Doctors performed cataract surgery and cataract removal for more than 300 poor patients; 121 patients were in Go Quao district and more than 180 patients were in Giong Rieng district.

After the free eye surgery, each patient was given medicine, eye protection glasses and a health care gift from the sponsor. The total cost of the free eye surgery in the two districts was over 300 million VND, sponsored by Boi Duc Monastery ( Ho Chi Minh City), Nhon Hoa Association for the Support of Poor Patients (Ho Chi Minh City) and Tan Quang Aluminum Alloy Company Limited.

After eye surgery, patients are assisted by medical staff in taking medication and given instructions on eye care.

Vice President of the Association for Supporting Poor Patients of Kien Giang Province, Nguyen Xuan Nghiem, said that every year the Association for Supporting Poor Patients of Kien Giang Province goes to districts to organize free eye surgeries for poor patients who cannot afford to travel far.

Since the beginning of the year, the Kien Giang Province Association for the Support of Poor Patients has coordinated to organize free eye surgeries for more than 1,900 patients. From now until the end of 2023, the Kien Giang Province Association for the Support of Poor Patients will coordinate to organize free eye surgeries in Hon Dat District and Ha Tien City.
