Using multifocal lenses to improve visual quality

Depending on the specific situation of each patient, the doctor will prescribe the placement of a single-focal or multi-focal artificial lens. Normally, for older patients, the doctor will place a single-focal artificial lens to serve the patient's distance vision. For other patients, in addition to the need for distance vision, there is also the need for near vision such as: writing, using a computer, phone, or intermediate vision such as driving, the doctor will consider placing a multi-focal artificial lens for the patient (2 focal lengths, 3 focal lengths, the more focal lengths, the clearer the patient will be able to see at different distances).

In the past, Hanoi - Dong Nai Eye Hospital has performed many surgeries to place multifocal artificial lenses on patients. To be able to perform this type of surgery, the conditions that the patient must meet are: the level of astigmatism is not too high, there is no damage to the fundus of the eye, and the patient's profession. In addition, the hospital must have some modern auxiliary machines to calculate the power and the number of multifocal lenses placed in the patient's eyes most accurately; the surgeon must have solid skills.
