From last night to this morning (May 30), heavy rains occurred in many mountainous districts of Nghe An . Districts such as Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Que Phong... experienced flash floods and landslides. People were heartbroken watching their property being swept away by floodwaters.
In Tuong Duong district , on the night of May 29, there was heavy to very heavy rain, causing flooding and landslides in many places. In particular, in Nhon Mai and Huu Khuong communes, flash floods occurred, causing damage to people's property and traffic works.
The leader of the People's Committee of Nhon Mai commune (Tuong Duong district) said that a large flash flood occurred between the night of May 29 and the early morning of May 30 in 6 villages in this commune.
According to the leader of Nhon Mai commune, heavy rain occurred from around 6pm on May 29. By around 11pm on the same day, a large flash flood occurred in the area.
Specifically, 6 villages were severely damaged by flash floods, including: Tham Tham, Xoi Voi, Co Ha, Na Lat, Na Hy, Nhon Mai. In Nhon Mai commune, the suspension bridge was swept away by flood, many traffic points were eroded...
In Ky Son district , heavy rain also caused damage to many people's properties and traffic works, in which the roads leading to Tay Son, Na Loi, Na Ngoi, Huu Kiem communes... were severely eroded. In Huu Kiem commune alone, floodwaters swept away a people's bridge and many houses were also damaged.
Information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Que Phong district said that heavy rain also caused damage to many people's properties and crops...
As of this morning, heavy rain is still occurring in mountainous districts in Nghe An. Local authorities are instructing people to evacuate and place their belongings on shelves to ensure safety.
