Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just announced the 10th grade exam scores in 2025.

Accordingly, 76,455 candidates took the Literature exam and 11,375 exams scored below 5 points. Only 2 candidates scored the highest score of 9.5 in Literature; 22 candidates scored 9.25 points; 179 candidates scored 9 points; 766 candidates scored 8.75 points; 1,480 candidates scored 8.5 points. The score that most candidates scored was 7 with 5,936 candidates. Next was 6.5 with 5,718 candidates; 6 with 5,491 candidates.

There were 76,356 candidates taking the Math exam, but 28,028 of them scored below 5 points. The Math exam also recorded 36 candidates scoring 10 points; 68 candidates scoring 9.75 points; 93 candidates scoring 9.5 points; 143 candidates scoring 9.25 points and 336 candidates scoring 9 points. The score with the most candidates was 7 with 4,580 students; followed by 6.75 points with 4,345 students.

The Foreign Language subject (mainly English) had 76,451 candidates taking the exam, but 24,081 exams scored below 5 points. The Foreign Language subject recorded 488 candidates scoring 10 points; 1,028 candidates scoring 9.75 points; 1,494 candidates scoring 9.5 points; 1,826 candidates scoring 9.25 points and 2,101 candidates scoring 9 points.

The total number of exams with below average scores for the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025 is 63,484.

The entire 10th grade exam in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025 recorded only 524 exams with a perfect score of 10, of which 488 were in Foreign Language (mainly English) and 36 were in Math.

In Literature alone, no candidate achieved a score of 10. The highest score in Literature was 9.5 and 2 candidates achieved this score.

How to calculate admission scores to grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City as follows:

The admission score for grade 10 high school is usually the total score of the following subjects:

Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + Priority points, incentive points (if any).

Admission score to grade 10 specialized schools is the total score of regular exams + specialized subject score x 2:

Admission score = Math exam score + Literature exam score + Foreign language exam score + Specialized subject exam score x 2 + Priority points, incentive points (if any).

According to the regulations of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the test scores of all subjects are calculated on a 10-point scale. Successful candidates must take all 3 tests and not have any test with a score of 0.

The integrated admission score for grade 10 is the sum of the scores of the regular exams + the integrated score.

Group 1: Students who participate in the integrated English program at secondary school level will be selected based on their entrance exam scores for grade 10 high school and the average score of the integrated English program. These students will be given priority to be placed in schools that teach the integrated English program.

The calculation of admission scores for the integrated English program is as follows:

Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + average score of integrated English program (on a 10-point scale).

This program only considers candidates who are eligible to take the entrance exam, have taken all required exams, have not violated exam regulations during the entrance exam, and have not scored a zero on any exam.

Group 2: Students who do not study the integrated English program at secondary school level in Ho Chi Minh City but register for the 10th grade entrance exam. In addition to the 3 required subjects of Literature, Math, and Foreign Language, students must register and take the integrated English exam.

The calculation of admission scores for the integrated English program is as follows:

Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + Integrated English exam score (on a 10-point scale).
