More than 66,000 people died in Israel's war in Gaza

The death toll from Israel's war in Gaza since October 2023 has exceeded 66,000 people.

According to Anadolu, the Gaza Health Authority said on September 28 that at least 66,005 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's war in Gaza since October 2023.

In the past 24 hours, 72 more people were killed and 379 injured in Gaza, bringing the total number of victims injured in the Israeli attack to 168,162.

“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble as rescuers cannot reach them,” the report added.

The report also noted that six Palestinians were killed and 66 others were injured by Israeli fire while waiting to receive humanitarian aid in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid to 2,566, with a further 18,769 injured since May 27.

The Israeli army continued its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18, breaking the ceasefire and the hostage and prisoner exchange agreement that took effect in January 2025.

Israeli forces are currently conducting an operation to completely occupy Gaza City. On September 28, Israel attacked Gaza’s largest medical complex, flattening entire buildings, causing panicked patients to seek shelter.

According to medical sources cited by the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the Israeli army also shelled another medical facility, Al Helou Hospital in Gaza City.

At least 50 high-rise buildings have been destroyed in recent weeks as Israeli forces have attacked Gaza City, flattening entire buildings that were once home to thousands of people.
