On August 24, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , the leader of the Ha Tinh Department of Education and Training said that he had sent a document to communes, wards, affiliated units and units implementing continuing education programs at high schools to focus on responding to storm No. 5.
The document requests the above units to establish an information channel with parents to manage students, minimizing the risks of natural disasters to students. Absolutely do not organize educational activities during storms, especially in areas at risk of flooding and landslides.
Accordingly, more than 67,000 students in grades 1, 9 and 12 in Ha Tinh will be off school from Monday (August 25); the time students return to school will depend on the storm's developments.
The Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh requested units to closely monitor the developments of the storm on mass media, to proactively handle necessary situations to ensure safety and report directly to management levels; to propagate for parents to pay attention to ensuring the safety of students' lives during the complicated developments of storm No. 5 and the risk of floods in the area.
Based on the developments of storm No. 5, organize 24/7 duty, develop a plan to move files, documents, machinery, equipment, tables and chairs to a safe place to avoid damage.
Comprehensively review and inspect school and classroom facilities in the area, especially degraded structures that are at risk of being unsafe in the event of heavy rain, floods, landslides, waterlogging, etc.
At the same time, educational units proactively coordinate with local authorities and organizations to focus on responding to and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 5 and the risk of floods and storms, to prepare conditions for the opening of the 2025-2026 school year.
