Regarding the food poisoning incident at Kim Giang Primary School ( Hanoi ) after a field trip , on the afternoon of March 30, the Hanoi Department of Health said that it had determined the initial cause of 72 students being hospitalized was due to staphylococcus aureus bacteria infecting chicken meat in the meal.
According to the Hanoi Department of Health, 68/72 students with food poisoning have been discharged from the hospital. Of the remaining 4 students, 2 are still being monitored at the Construction Hospital and 2 at Dong Da General Hospital. It is expected that these 4 students will be discharged this afternoon. Currently, their health is stable.

After determining that the cause of the student's hospitalization was due to staphylococcus aureus bacteria in the chicken dish, the professional agency noted that Thanh Xuan district continued to direct the investigation at the kitchen of Kim Giang Primary School. Review the cause of staphylococcus aureus bacteria contaminating the chicken during transportation or during processing to rectify food safety work.
Previously, on the afternoon of March 28, Kim Giang Primary School organized a tour for 915 students from grades 1 and 2 to the Green SailEducational Farm in Gia Lam district, Hanoi.
Lunch for the students was cooked at school and transported to the experience site. Upon returning to school, some students showed symptoms of stomachache, vomiting, and loose stools. 72 students were taken to various hospitals in Hanoi.
The investigation team collected samples of specimens, picnic food samples, and school food samples (white rice, sweet and sour minced meat, fried tofu with onions, stir-fried squash, sour soup with meat, cookies) kept at the school and sent them to the National Institute for Food Safety Control.
In addition, the Hanoi Food Safety Department has sent a team to take necessary samples at the Green Sail Education Farm. At the same time, the Kim Giang Primary School's collective kitchen has been requested to temporarily suspend operations to investigate the cause.
