The Honda Super Cub Hello Kitty motorbike has recently made a surprise appearance in the Vietnamese market. Previously, this model was introduced by Honda Japan and will be on sale from the end of 2024 to celebrate the 50th birthday of the famous cartoon character Hello Kitty. It is known that the batch of Honda Super Cub Hello Kitty motorbikes that just arrived in Vietnam was imported intact from Japan by a motorbike trading unit in Ho Chi Minh City with two options: Honda Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty and Honda Super Cub 110 Hello Kitty.
All of these versions are produced in limited quantities in Japan. Specifically, Honda Super Cub 110 Hello Kitty is produced in 1,000 units. Meanwhile, the Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty version has only 300 units released to the market. According to the representative of the unit importing Honda Super Cub Hello Kitty to Vietnam, because it is a limited edition, the number of vehicles "hunted" by dealers to bring to Vietnam is quite limited. The Super Cub 110 Hello Kitty version has only about 10 units, while the Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty version has about 20 units. Both versions have distinctive looks that appeal to a wide range of users. From parents looking for a safe, economical means of transport that combines classic style and fun for their children to use on their way to school, to young people with personality, who like to be different and want to assert their personal style.
In terms of appearance, the vehicle still possesses the unmistakable classic design of the legendary Honda Super Cub motorbike line, however, the Honda Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty and Honda Super Cub 110 Hello Kitty have both changed the color scheme according to the Hello Kitty character, while adjusting the design of some details and updating new technology. Both versions have a red main color scheme, combined with a leather saddle, gray handlebars, and saddle trim, and side panels decorated with Hello Kitty images. On the front fairing and the rear fenders, there are white Hello Kitty letters standing out on a red background. The Japanese automaker equipped the Honda Super Cub Hello Kitty with LED headlights, a mechanical key, an analog speedometer combined with an electronic information display screen... However, these two versions have some slight differences. The Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty uses spoked rims combined with drum brakes on both wheels. While the Honda Super Cub 110 Hello Kitty uses multi-spoke cast rims, combined with disc brakes with ABS anti-lock braking system on the front wheel, the rear wheel still uses drum brakes.
The Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty uses a 49cc single-cylinder engine with a capacity of 3.6 horsepower and a maximum torque of 3.8 Nm combined with a 4-speed gearbox. Meanwhile, the Super Cub 110 Hello Kitty uses a 110cc single-cylinder engine with a capacity of 9.1 horsepower and a torque of 8.5 Nm, according to information from the manufacturer. The price of the Honda Super Cub Hello Kitty has not been announced in Vietnam. In Japan, the selling price starts from 330,000 yen (equivalent to 52 million VND) for the Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty version and 385,000 yen (about 60.7 million VND). This pair will be distributed in Vietnam from the end of June 2025.
