Press conference to promote and introduce the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Buon Don district.

With the approval of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, on the afternoon of April 17, 2025, at the Biet Dien Hotel Hall, No. 01 Ngo Quyen, Buon Ma Thuot City, Buon Don District People's Committee held a press conference to introduce the first Hot Air Balloon Festival held in Buon Don District during the upcoming holiday.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Pham Trung Nghia - Chairman of Buon Don District People's Committee, the Hot Air Balloon Festival will be held in Buon Don District from May 1 to May 3, 2025 with the theme "Flying over the great forest". For the first time, visitors to Buon Don during the upcoming holidays will be able to fly up into the Central Highlands sky, admire Yok Don National Park with its vast dipterocarp forests, watch the majestic Serepok River, the rustic stilt houses hidden in the great forest, and the vivid picture of the ethnic communities working together to create the legendary land. Mr. Pham Trung Nghia - Chairman of Buon Don District People's Committee added: All legal procedures related to the conditions for organizing hot air balloon flights, ensuring safety, insurance for visitors and flying equipment have been carried out in accordance with the provisions of law.

The hot air balloon festival not only contributes to promoting the natural beauty, culture, people and land of Buon Don district but also promotes the advantages and potentials of the locality in tourism activities and promotes investment activities in cultural - economic - social development in the district with the tourism development orientation of Dak Lak province to 2030 and the detailed planning of tourist destinations of Buon Don district approved by the Provincial People's Committee, gradually turning Buon Don district tourism into a key economic sector, associated with job creation, increasing income for people, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the district.

Answering questions from reporters regarding tourism promotion and orientation for sustainable tourism development, Mr. Tran Hong Tien - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: Dak Lak has many advantages and potentials to develop cultural and ecological tourism. Because Dak Lak preserves a traditional culture imbued with the identity of indigenous peoples in the Central Highlands; There are many famous historical relics; Along with primeval forest areas, many majestic rivers, streams, lakes, waterfalls and rapids. In addition, Dak Lak is also a land famous for its valuable economic products such as coffee, durian, rubber, pepper, cocoa... suitable for organizing tourism activities. Currently, the Department is promoting tourism promotion activities in many large provinces and cities to promote tourism development, in addition, the Department is also advising the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the People's Council a specialized resolution on sustainable tourism development. In the immediate future, during the long holiday in late April and early May, the Department is coordinating with departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns, and businesses inside and outside the province to organize many new tourism products - of which the Hot Air Balloon Festival is an example. At the same time, a series of events will be planned from now until the beginning of the new year 2026 to contribute to stimulating tourism demand.

The hot air balloon festival is held in Buon Don district, as one of the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Buon Don district (October 7, 1995 - October 7, 2025).
