Meeting to prepare for the inauguration ceremony and groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution

(laichau.gov.vn) This morning (May 15), the Ministry of Construction held a meeting to prepare for the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies of projects and works to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). Deputy Minister of Construction Bui Xuan Dung chaired the meeting.

The meeting was held in a combination of direct and online formats to central ministries, branches, 34 provinces and cities nationwide.

Attending the meeting at Lai Chau province bridge point were comrade Trinh Quang Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction; representatives of leaders of a number of relevant provincial departments and branches.

According to the report of the Ministry of Construction , to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Government decided to organize online groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies for works and projects at 80 locations across the country. The inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies for the projects will be held directly at the main location - the National Exhibition and Fair Center, Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi City, combined online with the locations at 9:00 a.m. on August 19, 2025. These are particularly important political events, a brilliant milestone in the glorious history of building and defending the country of the nation.

Up to now, the whole country has 250 projects and works in 34 provinces and cities that are eligible to start construction and inaugurate with a total investment of about 1,280,000 billion VND, of which 89 projects and works have been inaugurated; 161 projects and works have started construction.

The inauguration and putting into operation of works and projects and the simultaneous commencement of large-scale works contribute to creating momentum and position for the country's socio -economic development, strengthening regional connectivity; contributing to growth of 8% or more in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years; creating jobs and livelihoods for people and improving people's lives.

On this occasion, Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee selected and registered 3 works and projects to start construction and inaugurate to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), including: Investment project to build Phong Tho Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Investment project to build additional classrooms and boarding rooms for students of Lai Chau Provincial Ethnic Boarding High School, Ho Mit Hydropower Plant.

Currently, Lai Chau has developed a plan for the groundbreaking ceremony and assigned the implementation to departments, branches, sectors and related units to ensure the progress of the groundbreaking ceremony as planned; regularly organize inspection teams to ensure the progress of the groundbreaking ceremony as planned; direct the provincial authorities to deploy plans to ensure safety, security, power supply, traffic flow, health care, fire prevention and fighting at the event area; direct VNPT Lai Chau to connect transmission lines, audio and visual signals at the bridge points to be completed before August 17, 2025; direct the Project Management Board for investment in construction of civil and industrial works to install stages, ceremonies, screens and equipment according to the general instructions of the Ministry of Construction, Vietnam Television, etc.

Participate in giving opinions at meetings of ministries, branches and localities to report on the implementation of tasks, works and projects; solutions and tasks to ensure the groundbreaking ceremony is successful, solemn and meaningful...

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of Construction Bui Xuan Dung requested ministries, departments, branches, People's Committees of provinces and cities, in coordination with investors and the Ministry of Construction, to finalize the main bridge location today (August 15); urgently complete preparations on Saturday, Sunday (August 16-17) to Monday (August 18) for all localities to simultaneously conduct test runs; request ministries, branches and localities to deploy work according to Official Dispatch No. 136/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister dated August 14, 2025 on organizing the inauguration ceremony and groundbreaking ceremony of projects and works to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025...
