Digital transformation and innovation: Key to promoting circular agriculture
To realize the Net Zero goal, digital transformation and innovation have become key solutions in the modern agricultural development strategy. The Government has issued major policies and guidelines such as Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo , Resolution 193/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly and Resolution 71/NQ-CP of the Government to promote science - technology, innovation and digital transformation in the agricultural and environmental sectors.
This is a solid legal foundation to bring Vietnam's agricultural sector forward on the path of greening production, protecting the environment and improving the quality of agricultural products.
The conference to implement these important resolutions was held on the morning of May 10, 2025 in Bac Ninh, chaired by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in coordination with the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province. The conference clearly demonstrated the Government's strategic orientation in building a circular, smart and sustainable agricultural value chain.
The conference focused on discussing the orientation of applying science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in research activities on cultivation and plant protection, forestry, breeding of rice, fruit trees, coffee and pepper, land database, crop restructuring, soil health management and plant nutrition.
Speaking at the conference, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy affirmed that digital transformation and innovation are no longer trends but have become inevitable requirements in modern agricultural development. The agricultural sector cannot continue to rely on traditional models in the context of climate change, resource depletion and increasingly urgent green growth requirements. Science, technology and data need to be considered the core foundation for sustainable agricultural development.

The Minister of Agriculture and Environment also proposed five key groups of solutions: perfecting institutions to remove barriers, reforming research organizations towards streamlining and autonomy, changing the way of ordering scientific and technological tasks associated with production practices, developing human resources with deep expertise and promoting comprehensive digital transformation.
At the same time, calling for the cooperation of localities, businesses, institutes, associations, international organizations and the community to create a real and sustainable change for the agricultural and environmental sectors.
Promoting the participation of pioneering enterprises
To accelerate the implementation of the goal and require the support of many parties (ministries, localities, enterprises), at the Conference to deploy the implementation plan of Resolution No. 57 NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo, Resolution No. 193/2025/QH15 dated February 19, 2025 of the National Assembly, Resolution No. 71/NQ-CP dated April 1, 2025 of the Government on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation in the agricultural and environmental sectors organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province on May 10, 2025, the signing ceremony of the cooperation program between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and Thanh Thanh Cong - Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company (TTC AgriS) took place to promote the application of science and technology in circular agricultural production, develop smart agricultural models and build an open data system, blockchain traceability.
TTC AgriS is currently one of the pioneers in the field of high-tech agriculture in Vietnam. The company is strongly transforming from a traditional raw material producer to a technology - nutrition - sustainable consumption model. TTC AgriS currently operates 7 processing plants and raw material areas across Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Australia and is expanding to Indonesia. With an R&D system located in Vietnam, Singapore and Australia, TTC AgriS is building a foundation for a circular agricultural value chain according to international standards.
According to Ms. Dang Huynh Uc My, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of TTC AgriS, the company is committed to accompanying the Government in implementing the strategy of Resolution 57, aiming to improve the productivity, quality and added value of Vietnamese agricultural products. TTC AgriS has invested in digital technology and automation in farming such as applying Big Data, AI, IoT, drones, smart supply chain management systems and traceability using blockchain.
Thanks to that, TTC AgriS has achieved positive results: raw material productivity increased by 15 - 30%, more than 60% of logistics and trade stages were digitized, products met export standards to demanding markets such as the EU and Japan. At the same time, the company utilized by-products to reduce emissions, invested in renewable energy such as biomass, solar power and green hydrogen.

Another large enterprise that is also pioneering the implementation of the circular economy goal in its production and business model is Vinamilk. Throughout the development process, in addition to the mission of bringing high-quality nutritional products to consumers' health, Vinamilk has also invested early in equipment, applied modern, environmentally friendly technology, practiced regenerative agriculture, and used renewable energy systems for sustainable use and contributed to the conservation of limited energy and resources.
As one of the leading enterprises in the dairy industry, playing a major role in changing the face of the high-tech dairy farming industry, Vinamilk constantly expands its scope of sustainable development, aiming for a balance between production and business growth and environmental and social responsibility.
With 12 farms spread across the country, new projects continuously invested in, and the size of the cow herd also growing rapidly, how has Vinamilk solved the problem of sustainable development? Especially in the context of Vietnam's agricultural sector increasingly affected by climate change, water pollution...
By 2035, our country will become one of the innovation centers, providing technology, equipment, products, services and mobilizing investment capital for the circular economy in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), which will make Vietnam a model of green development in the region.
