Reporting at the conference, Mr. Luong Anh Duc, Deputy Head of the Department of General Education, said that in the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province has 452 secondary schools and 81 high schools; Secondary education institutions have successfully completed the set targets and tasks.
Of which, 100% of secondary education institutions proactively develop plans to teach subjects suitable to the actual situation of the unit; develop plans to pilot the implementation of digital transcripts.
The 2018 general education program was implemented synchronously, ensuring quality and efficiency. The training of educational management staff and teachers was carried out effectively.
The work of student streaming after junior high school and high school has achieved good results. The rate of students passing high school graduation is 99.62%; the rate of students passing junior high school graduation is 99.71%.
Notably, in the national excellent student selection exam, the province had 110/162 candidates winning prizes. 4/5 projects participating in the National Science and Technology Research Competition for middle and high school students won prizes.
Implementing the tasks of the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Education requires secondary education institutions to continue to effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program. Improve the quality of STEM/STEAM education, digital competency development education, AI education, and career guidance education.
In particular, it is necessary to strengthen the management and organization of extra teaching and learning activities inside and outside of schools. Effectively implement the organization of teaching and learning 2 sessions/day at qualified secondary and high school educational institutions.
At the same time, advise competent authorities to strengthen conditions to ensure facilities, teaching equipment, and teaching staff in the context of implementing the organization of two-level local government and adjusting administrative boundaries. Arrange school and class sizes to suit local conditions, overcome the situation of student numbers exceeding regulations...
Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Education and Training Pham Dong Thuy emphasized that educational institutions need to develop detailed plans to improve the quality of teaching and learning, while narrowing the gap with continuing education. He also requested units to enhance professional activities, pay attention to investing resources to complete facilities and teaching equipment in accordance with regulations.
In addition, the Department Director also proposed to strengthen inspection and quality assessment and tighten management of extra teaching and learning to ensure compliance with regulations.
