The Provincial Agricultural Extension Center in collaboration with the Farmers' Association of Hoa Quang Bac Commune (Phu Hoa District) has just organized a training course to guide the practice of some measures to prevent fruit flies on crops for more than 30 officials and farmer members in the commune.
During the training course, students were taught new scientific and technical advances; necessary knowledge to improve the productivity and quality of fruit trees; characteristics, methods and damage levels of fruit flies; cultivation, pruning and canopy shaping measures to prevent fruit flies. In addition, students were instructed on how to practice covering fruit with specialized bags; how to make traps, set traps and spray bait to prevent fruit flies from causing direct damage to trees such as jackfruit, mango, guava, mangosteen, etc.
The training course aims to guide farmers to proactively develop solutions to manage fruit flies that are harmful to crops in the short and long term; limit the use of pesticides on fruit products, helping to ensure food safety, increase the value of agricultural products, and protect the ecological environment.
