Create cohesion among workers

This year's Workers' Month, many workers have received attention from Party committees, authorities, trade unions at all levels, and businesses through activities such as donating Union Shelters, visiting, giving gifts, health check-ups, free legal advice, etc. That has created solidarity among workers, promptly encouraging workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, to rise up in life.

Practical sharing

According to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, since the beginning of May, in addition to organizing the giving of hundreds of gifts to workers, trade unions at all levels in the province have organized many activities to bring practical benefits to workers, improving their material and spiritual lives.

Attending the launching ceremony of Workers' Month and Labor Safety and Hygiene Action Month organized by the Provincial Economic Zone Trade Union, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Olam Company Limited in Phu Yen shared: "To implement Workers' Month and Labor Safety and Hygiene Action Month this year, the trade union executive board organized many meaningful activities for employees in the company. Specifically, guiding employees to sign labor contracts and collective labor agreements with many provisions beneficial to employees; coordinating with business leaders to build a safe working environment, minimizing toxic substances affecting workers' health; at the same time, fully equipping employees with tools such as gloves, masks, and protective hats."

Right at the launching ceremony of Workers' Month in the units, many enterprises coordinated with the trade union to give gifts to workers suffering from serious illnesses, work accidents, and single mothers. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, a worker at Hoa Hiep Industrial Park, said: "My situation is still difficult due to low income. For many years, I have always received attention, gifts, and encouragement from trade unions at all levels."

With the spirit of building a working class to step firmly into a new era, this year's Workers' Month has been actively responded to by trade unions at all levels, organizations, businesses, and workers with many exciting, diverse, and meaningful activities. All demonstrate a sense of responsibility, always accompanying and sharing with union members and workers.

Regarding occupational safety and hygiene, most businesses always raise their awareness of responsibility for complying with the law, and most business owners do a good job of occupational safety and hygiene. Trade unions at all levels also always coordinate with businesses to provide labor protection equipment and provide training on occupational safety. Businesses with a large number of employees regularly coordinate with functional departments to inspect occupational safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting, food safety and hygiene, practically ensuring the rights of workers. Mr. Phan Dinh Hong, Chairman of the Trade Union of An Hung Joint Stock Company (Tuy Hoa City) said: "Recently, the trade union coordinated with business owners and functional departments to inspect occupational safety and hygiene and food safety at 11 factories and enterprises of the company. In general, the implementation of these tasks is always guaranteed. This is also an opportunity for the inspection team to remind and make further adjustments so that this work can be performed better in the future."

Many meaningful activities

In order for the Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene to be truly meaningful to workers, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor will soon issue documents guiding trade unions at all levels to implement them. Along with focusing on disseminating the significance of the Workers' Month, the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and the International Labor Day on May 1st in conjunction with the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, trade unions at all levels have been creative and organized practical activities, creating a useful and healthy playground, contributing to creating consensus and solidarity between workers, businesses and trade unions.

Also according to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, this year's Workers' Month, trade unions at all levels in the province coordinated with the health sector trade unions and medical centers of districts and towns to organize free health check-ups and consultations for nearly 500 union members and workers at a number of enterprises, in order to reduce the incidence of occupational diseases and raise the spirit of health protection among workers.

Phu Yen Economic Zone Trade Union and its affiliated trade unions also have many activities in response to Workers' Month. In particular, the Provincial Economic Zone Trade Union organizes activities such as the Workers' Singing Contest, folk games, gift giving, coordinating with functional units and branches to provide free legal advice..., which are actively responded to by many union members and workers. Talking about this, Ms. Ngo Hoang Vy, Vice President in charge of the Provincial Economic Zone Trade Union said: "In response to this year's Workers' Month, the Provincial Economic Zone Trade Union and its affiliated units have many activities such as organizing meetings and discussions between businesses, business owners and workers; signing collective labor agreements, adding provisions beneficial to workers... Especially the Workers' Singing Contest has attracted hundreds of people to participate and cheer".
