This morning, May 26, information from Economic - Defense Group 337 said that in the process of expanding the area to search for martyrs' remains in Xa Re village, Huong Tan commune, Huong Hoa district, the unit continued to discover and collect 1 remains and relics engraved with the word "Phiet" or "Phiet" with the symbol "SH-2-526".

Specifically, based on information from the people, from May 19 to now, the Martyr Remains Collection Team of Economic - Defense Group 337 has been searching and excavating at the wind power construction area in Xa Re village, Huong Tan commune. Here, the unit discovered and collected 5 martyrs' remains and is continuing to expand the search area.

Notably, today, May 26, the unit exhumed a martyr’s remains wrapped in a parachute cloth, with 18 teeth and many bone fragments. Accompanying relics include shoe soles and buttons, parachute cords, shirt buttons, plastic spoons, medicine bottles, glass jars containing documents, etc. Notably, the remains were buried with a canteen engraved with the word “Phiet” or “Phiet” and a small aluminum wristband with the words “SH-2-526”.

After the discovery, the unit coordinated with the Department of Internal Affairs of Huong Hoa district to determine the information of the martyrs' remains. According to information provided by the Department of Internal Affairs, the location where the remains were discovered was previously the area where units of Division 304, Corps 2 participated in the battle at Khe Sanh front.

Currently, the remains of 5 martyrs are being burned incense and cared for at the Spiritual Cultural Area of ​​Huong Hoa district and waiting for information confirmation from the authorities.
