Cho Gao District: Humanitarian Month 2025 - Effective and spreading humanity

(ABO) For many years, Humanitarian Month in Cho Gao district, Tien Giang province has created impressive results, spreading humanity, and is an opportunity for humanitarian workers to continue to affirm and promote their role as a bridge, coordinate, and organize humanitarian activities to help people in difficult and vulnerable circumstances to rise up in life.

Implementing the "Humanitarian Month" in 2025 with the theme "Humanitarian Journey - Spreading Love", the Cho Gao District Red Cross Society (RCS) has effectively implemented, attracting the participation and enthusiastic response of all levels, sectors and people in the whole district, arousing and spreading the spirit of mutual love, the care and sharing of Party committees, authorities, unions at all levels, business organizations, individuals inside and outside the district, connecting the support of many humanitarian addresses. The Society has performed well the core, bridging and coordinating role in humanitarian activities.

Give wheelchairs and gifts to the disabled.

From March 1, 2025 to May 31, 2025, the Association launched the emulation movement "Good people, good deeds - Joining hands to build a compassionate community". The Association directed the grassroots Association to advise the People's Committees at the same level to issue documents directing the implementation of Humanitarian Month activities such as organizing the Humanitarian Month Launch Ceremony, mobilizing resources in many forms to support the poor and disadvantaged; combining the implementation of the Association's programs and campaigns such as: "Millions of compassionate steps"; "Nutrition for poor and disabled children", "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address", "Humanitarian market"...

Based on the implementation of the direction of the Provincial Red Cross Society on organizing the "Humanitarian Month" in 2025, the entire Association system plays the core role in mobilizing all social classes to respond to the "Million Steps of Charity" Campaign through the V-Race application implemented by the Central Association in coordination with FPT Online Services Joint Stock Company. The District Association and the grassroots Association mobilized 107 people to install the V-Race application and participate, organizing a collective walking program associated with community activities in response to the "Million Steps of Charity" Campaign, with 100% of district officials and grassroots Associations participating in walking 2,732 km.

In response to the Humanitarian Month 2025, the District Red Cross Association organized a launching ceremony and organized a "Humanitarian Market" session to distribute 150 0-VND shopping vouchers, including 13 essential goods, each voucher worth 450,000 VND; total value of 68 million VND.

At the same time, the organization visited and presented 390 gifts, totaling 168 million VND to the poor, the disabled, the lonely elderly, people in difficult circumstances, orphans, and children in difficult circumstances; organized the awarding of 100 scholarships to poor and studious students of Luong Phu Primary School and Luong Hoa Lac Secondary School, each scholarship worth 1 million VND sponsored by the Customs Sub-Department of Region XVI; mobilized the construction of a rural traffic bridge in Hoa Phu Hamlet, Hoa Tinh Commune, sponsored by Thien Tam Red Cross Association, District 11, Ho Chi Minh City with a total cost of 94 million VND.

The Red Cross Association at the grassroots level has organized many practical activities for this year's Humanitarian Month, including the Red Cross Association of Binh Ninh and Tan Binh Thanh communes organizing two charity markets to support 200 disadvantaged households with a total amount of VND100 million. In addition, the Red Cross Associations of communes and towns also mobilized to donate nearly 1,300 gifts with a total amount of nearly VND400 million.

Medical examination and free medicine for patients in difficult circumstances.

In addition, the District Red Cross Association also coordinated with the Medical Team of the District Medical Center to organize medical examinations, provide free medicine, and give gifts to 719 elderly, poor, and disadvantaged people in the communes of Dang Hung Phuoc, Tan Thuan Binh, Binh Phan, Thanh Binh, and Long Binh Dien, sponsored by Phuc Thien Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (Ho Chi Minh City) and benefactors.

Along with that is the campaign to donate 11 wheelchairs, 1 rocking chair and gifts to the disabled in difficult circumstances in the district sponsored by Venerable Thich Nguyen Phuc, Executive Committee Member of the District Red Cross Association, connecting with the Quan Am Tu Bi Group.

The Association at all levels mobilized cadres, members, Red Cross volunteers and people to donate 364 units of blood. The total value of the Humanitarian Month activities in 2025 was over 1.2 billion VND, helping 2,888 people in the district.

Organize charity markets.

Chairman of the District Red Cross Association Le Quang Tuan said that with efforts in social charity work, the Red Cross Associations at all levels in the district are truly the core organizations in humanitarian activities, proactively innovating their working methods, and providing more support to disadvantaged and disadvantaged areas to stabilize their lives.

Not only the Humanitarian Month, but the Association also constantly promotes and implements the movement "Humanitarian Tet", the Campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address", "Good people, good deeds - join hands to build a compassionate community", voluntary blood donation movement, free medical examination and medicine, scholarships, wheelchairs... so that no one is left behind.
