Phu Giao District: Honoring and rewarding individuals and families who participate in voluntary blood donation

(BDO) On the morning of May 29, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation (VBD) of Phu Giao district held a conference to honor and reward outstanding individuals and families participating in the 2025 VBD.

Phu Giao district leaders awarded certificates of merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society to individuals and groups.

In recent years, the voluntary blood donation movement in Phu Giao district has developed strongly, becoming a typical activity in humanitarian work. Up to now, the whole district has built a widespread blood donation network with 26 voluntary blood donation clubs, 17 reserve blood donation clubs and 34 family blood donation clubs. In addition, the "Living Blood Bank" model continues to be effective in emergency cases requiring blood transfusion.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the district organized 4 blood donation campaigns and participated in the Red Spring Festival organized by the Provincial Red Cross Society; thereby receiving 1,127 units of blood, reaching 56.35% of the year's target (2,000 units of blood).

At the conference, the Phu Giao District Red Cross Society awarded the "For Humanitarian Cause" Medal of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society to 2 individuals; awarded certificates of merit from the Central Red Cross Society to 3 individuals and 7 groups; awarded rewards from the Provincial Red Cross Society to 9 groups and 14 individuals with outstanding achievements in the association's work and the Red Cross movement in 2024. At the same time, the District People's Committee awarded rewards to 19 groups and 21 individuals with outstanding achievements in the "Humanitarian Tet" movement in 2025 and honored 162 individuals and 21 exemplary families who participated in the HMTN from 5 to 10 times.
