Continuing to open up cooperation opportunities between Binh Duong and Japan

(BDO) On the morning of May 30, Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting with the Japan Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City (JCCH) led by Mr. Kume Kunihide, Director of Mitsubishi Vietnam Company, Ho Chi Minh City Branch and the new Chairman of JCCH. Also receiving the delegation were representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

At the meeting, Mr. Bui Minh Tri gave an overview of the province's socio -economic development situation, and highly appreciated and expressed gratitude for the contributions of Japanese enterprises in the province to the province's overall success in recent years.

Up to now, Japan ranks 2nd out of 65 countries and territories with investment projects in Binh Duong province with 365 projects with a total registered investment capital of more than 6 billion USD. Among them are some outstanding projects such as: Tokyu Group, Wonderful Saigon Electrics Co., Ltd., Maruchi Sun Steel Co., Ltd., Saigon Stec Co., Ltd., Aeon Group...

The two sides shared some information of mutual interest, especially the fields in which Binh Duong province is calling for investment.

Mr. Bui Minh Tri also shared the province's orientation for attracting investment in the coming time. Accordingly, Binh Duong prioritizes attracting investment in high-tech industries, semiconductor technology, green energy, green economy, circular economy; high-tech, advanced, environmentally friendly, less labor-intensive, high-value-added sectors...; focusing on developing new industrial parks in the direction of ecology, high technology and specialization. In addition, Binh Duong is also focusing on developing the transportation network connecting Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast region, especially Metro lines No. 1 and No. 2.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Kume Kunihide thanked the leaders of Binh Duong province for taking the time to welcome the delegation and expressed his impression of the province's development achievements, as well as the orientation of the areas that the province prioritizes to call for investment. He believes that with the role of connecting Japanese enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City as well as localities in the region, in the coming time, JCCH will open up many cooperation opportunities in areas that are the strengths of Japanese enterprises. Currently, JCCH has 1,061 members, mainly concentrated in 5 provinces and cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An, Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
