Industrial production activities in recent times have made important contributions to the socio -economic development of Tan Phuoc district. Many investors have chosen Tan Phuoc as a destination to invest in large industrial production projects. Currently, the locality is focusing on implementing industrial parks and clusters (IPs) according to the planning, striving to become a key area for industrial development in Tien Giang province.

* Attractive destination for investors
According to the People's Committee of Tan Phuoc district, in recent times, the locality has well organized the State's policies and guidelines on investment incentives, actively improved public services, and enhanced the operational efficiency of specialized departments and offices to better serve industrial development in the district. Currently, there are 393 enterprises operating in the district, an increase of 314 enterprises compared to 1994. The enterprises attract about 24,300 workers, an increase of 24,000 workers compared to 1994.
In the district, there is Long Giang Industrial Park (IP) with a total area of 540 hectares. Up to now, Long Giang IP has called for investment in 55 projects in various industries, including electronics, copper, plastic packaging, etc. Currently, the occupancy rate of this IP is 85%, with a total investment capital of 1.78 billion USD and 166.34 billion VND. Enterprises in Long Giang IP create jobs for about 25,000 workers. In 2023, the total export turnover of enterprises in the IP will reach over 2 billion USD, contributing significantly to the industrial production value of the province. Long Giang IP prioritizes attracting the development of high-tech industries, agricultural and aquatic product processing industry, supporting industries, consumer goods, etc. In recent times, the IP has attracted many investors from countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, etc. Enterprises continuously invest in expanding production scale such as: Sunjin Vina Mekong Limited Liability Company (LLC), TexHong Ngan Long Textile Co., Ltd., Nissei Electric MYTHO Co., Ltd., UNI-BRAN Cooking Oil Co., Ltd.... This has created many job opportunities for local workers, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the district.
Besides Long Giang Industrial Park, in the district there is also Tan Phuoc 1 Industrial Park which has just been approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy and investor approval. The investor is IDICO Tien Giang Joint Stock Company. The industrial park has a scale of 470 hectares. Up to now, the project has completed the announcement of the 1/2000 planning. According to the approved zoning plan, this is a multi-industry industrial park. After the investment is completed, Tan Phuoc 1 Industrial Park will have 362.8 hectares of industrial land with available technical infrastructure to attract investment in industries such as: Production and processing of food and beverages; garment production; production of automobiles and other motor vehicles; production of chemicals and chemical products; production of products from non-metallic minerals and metals; beds, cabinets, tables, chairs, etc.
In addition, the district also plans to build Tan Phuoc 2 Industrial Park, with a total area of 450 hectares. Up to now, this industrial park has completed the announcement of the 1/2000 planning and the planning boundary as prescribed and is submitting for approval of the investment policy. In addition, the district is also implementing Thanh Tan Industrial Park with an area of 50 hectares. The Provincial People's Committee has issued a decision approving the adjustment of the investment policy and approving the investor of this industrial park project. The investor is coordinating with the relevant agencies to carry out land procedures and implement investment steps in accordance with regulations.
According to the assessment of the leaders of Tan Phuoc District People's Committee, in recent times, attracting investment for industrial development has contributed to job creation and income increase for local people, promoting poverty reduction in the locality. This has contributed to shifting the local economic structure towards modernity, rationality and efficiency (reducing the proportion of agriculture, forestry and fishery, increasing the proportion of industry, construction and services).

According to the province's orientation, Tan Phuoc district is planned as a key area for industrial development in Tien Giang. Accordingly, many industrial zones and clusters have been planned in the locality to aim for this goal. Currently, the locality is focusing on coordinating with related units to quickly implement industrial development projects. In the immediate future, the district will focus on accelerating the implementation of the newly approved Tan Phuoc 1 Industrial Park.
According to the leader of Tan Phuoc District People's Committee, regarding the orientation of industrial development in the coming time, the locality will focus on developing industries that cause less environmental pollution. One of the important orientations is to promote the province's industrial investment in the district to accelerate the industrial growth rate in accordance with the ability to attract investment, capital, technology and labor skills. The district strives to quickly shift the structure of important and key industries based on comparative advantages in terms of local raw materials and geographical location, land and labor. In particular, the locality will mobilize capital sources with many forms of investment to build infrastructure of industrial zones and clusters. In the immediate future, the district will focus on the Southeast Tan Phuoc area approved by the Provincial People's Committee. Industries attracted to these industrial zones include: Manufacturing household appliances, light industry, machinery and electronic products, wood processing and interior decoration... In particular, the district will prioritize calling for investment in high-tech industries; Building industrial parks such as: Thanh Tan, My Phuoc 1, My Phuoc 2, My Phuoc 3, Thanh Hoa, Phuoc Lap...
