With its gentle, winding hilly terrain and large tea plantations, Phuc Khoa commune has an advantage in attracting tourists to visit its tea hills. Visitors from all over the world are amazed and admire the beauty of the tea hills as this place is blessed with a fresh climate, no dust and noise and a convenient terrain for travel. Ms. Hoang Tham (Da Lat city) exclaimed: Although Bao Loc ( Lam Dong ) also has a place to visit tea hills, here I feel the peace in the space and fresh climate. Being immersed in the vast nature; relaxing, refreshing the soul, this memory will surely be remembered forever.
Indeed, when our reporters livestreamed and posted images of the tea hills on social networking sites, friends from all over came to watch, follow, “admire the view”, endlessly praising the lush green color of Tan Uyen tea hills. Everyone wished to come here to witness with their own eyes, to immerse themselves in the majestic space at dawn or dusk on the tea hills; to breathe fresh air away from the noise and dust of the big city.
It is known that from many resources, Tan Uyen district as well as the authorities of Tan Uyen town and Phuc Khoa commune have invested in many viewing points in high, wide, and airy spaces in tea areas; pouring concrete on traffic routes, both serving the people taking care of and harvesting tea, and creating conditions for visitors to visit, take photos, and save memorable moments when coming here. Recently, in Phuc Khoa commune, people have been mobilized to donate land, widen the roadbed to 6m with a total length of 3km (main axis) to invest in pouring concrete on the road surface.
The first Ao Dai Festival of Tan Uyen Tea Region in 2025 was held on the tea hill of Phuc Khoa commune on March 8, 2025.
According to Mr. Lo Van Luc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Khoa Commune, the people in the commune always want to invest in upgrading the tea hill area into a tourist destination. Therefore, as soon as they receive the notice of land donation, road expansion; mobilizing labor to plant flowers around the tea hill to create landscape, clear grass, collect garbage... the people all respond enthusiastically. However, the commune's financial conditions are limited, unable to invest adequately in tourism. We hope that the province will pay more attention to help the commune build a "good" tea hill tourist destination, exploiting the local potential to the fullest.
To attract tourists and spread the beauty of the tea hills, in recent times, Tan Uyen district has chosen the tea hills in the district town area and Phuc Khoa commune to organize many cultural and sports events such as: cross-country race, spring tea festival, motorbike racing, cultural and sports festival of ethnic groups... Most recently, on March 8, for the first time, the district organized the 1st Tan Uyen Tea Region Ao Dai Festival/2025 with the participation of nearly 1,500 people forming tea flower petals with diverse colors of Ao Dai on the green spring tea fields.
In the exciting atmosphere of the festival, Mr. Lo Van Bien - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee emphasized: Through this event, the district promotes communication with domestic and international friends to come to Tan Uyen tea area to enjoy the aroma of spring tea cups, blending into the living space and lifestyle of the local community. With such potential and advantages, in the coming time, the district will review potential areas for tourism development to invest in infrastructure, organize experiential activities, motorbike racing, tea picking competitions, and Ao Dai performances on tea fields. Tan Uyen also has mineral springs, the district is working with investors to create tours and tourist routes connecting with neighboring areas such as Sa Pa ( Lao Cai province), Tam Duong, Than Uyen. Tourism development aims to promote the image of the country, Tan Uyen homeland and puts the interests of the people first. Therefore, we look forward to the sustainable companionship of the people in tourism development.
Ms. Truong Thi Nga in Phuc Khoa village (Phuc Khoa commune) has 5,000m2 of tea in the tea area of Phuc Khoa commune and has chosen to develop experiential tourism. Over the years, she has never seen an event that attracts as many people to the tea hills as the Ao Dai Festival. Standing at the highest viewpoint looking down, she sees her hometown as beautiful as the images she has seen on the media. Ms. Nga said: Phuc Khoa hometown is prosperous thanks to tea and beautiful thanks to the green color of tea. I hope that in the coming time, all levels will pay more attention so that people can have more income.
Mrs. Nga’s dream is also the desire of many Tan Uyen tea growers and visitors. That raises many problems in solving the need to build tours, tourist routes and service chains: eating, playing, sleeping, relaxing when visitors visit the tea land. To do that, that task needs more clear and specific “pushes”.
