Tri Ton district consults voters on adjusting names of commune-level administrative units

On April 25, Luong Phi, An Tuc, and O Lam communes organized a voter consultation on adjusting the names of commune-level administrative units.

According to voters' wishes to choose a name for a commune-level administrative unit associated with local traditions, history and culture, Tri Ton district decided to adjust the name of Tri Ton Tay commune to O Lam commune, on the basis of merging Luong Phi commune, An Tuc commune and O Lam commune.

Through the organization of opinion gathering, the majority of voters highly agreed on adjusting the name of the commune-level administrative unit to the new name. After synthesizing the voters' opinions, the People's Councils of communes, towns and the District People's Council will convene a meeting to gather opinions on the adjustment of the name of the administrative unit that has been agreed upon by the voters.
