Along with expanding the area, improving the productivity and quality of agricultural products, in recent years, Sop Cop district has focused on developing brands and trademarks of key local agricultural products. Many agricultural products of the district have been and are being favored by consumers, highly appreciated for their quality.

Sop Cop has over 1,360 hectares of rice, over 2,170 hectares of fruit trees, nearly 100 hectares of medicinal plants of all kinds, mainly concentrated in the communes of Muong Va, Nam Lanh, Muong Leo, Muong Lan, Sam Kha, Sop Cop. Every year, the district supports farmers in applying scientific and technical advances, taking care of crops according to VietGAP standards, organic orientation. Organize training, instruct on labeling of goods, codes, barcodes; register to participate in the program of one product per commune, evaluate product quality at the district level, select and propose products to participate in the provincial evaluation. At the same time, encourage households, cooperatives, and cooperative groups to maintain and develop traditional products, typical of the locality.
Muong Va sticky rice is a special delicious sticky rice variety, cultivated by ethnic minorities in Muong Va commune for many generations. On average, each crop, people cultivate more than 200 hectares of tan hin, tan nhe, tan do varieties, with an output of more than 1,000 tons of rice per year. In 2018, sticky rice was granted a protection certificate, the brand name "Nep Muong Va - Sop Cop"; in 2019, it was recognized as a 3-star OCOP product at the provincial level.
Ms. Lo Thi Ha, Chairwoman of Muong Va Commune People's Committee, said: Since Muong Va sticky rice has been branded and achieved provincial OCOP status, the product has become more widely known to consumers, with stable prices and output. The product has been sold in markets and supermarkets in and outside the province and on e-commerce platforms, helping local farmers feel secure in investing in agricultural production towards high-quality goods.
Since the implementation of the program "One Commune One Product" up to now, Sop Cop district has supported more than 550 million VND for households, cooperatives, and enterprises to design packaging, print labels, stamps, and design websites... Up to now, the district has 3 OCOP products achieving 3 - 4 stars. In addition, it has promoted the branding of oranges and tangerines of Muong Va commune, honey pineapple of Sam Kha commune, the product "Tan Cuong smoked buffalo meat" of Toan Duyen cooperative, "Sop Cop wild honey polygonum multiflorum pills" of Long Hieu cooperative and other medicinal products...
As one of the pioneering cooperatives in building brands for agricultural products and growing medicinal plants in the district, Long Hieu Cooperative is growing red cardamom, velvet antler, sand ginseng, and ginger.
Mr. Lai Dinh Hien, Director of Long Hieu Cooperative, shared: The Cooperative has invested in 11 members to plant nearly 30 hectares of medicinal plants and more than 10 hectares of fruit trees in Nam Lanh commune, Muong Leo. Of which, 20 hectares have been harvested, bringing stable income to the members. In 2022, the product "Sop Cop wild honey polygonum multiflorum pills" of the Cooperative was recognized as meeting the 3-star OCOP standard at the provincial level. In the coming time, the Cooperative will continue to mobilize members to produce agriculture according to the VietGAP process, improving product quality in a clean and safe direction.
Mr. Vi Van Dinh, Head of the District's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said: To develop typical agricultural products, the district continues to build concentrated raw material areas, replicate effective agricultural production models associated with granting growing area codes, product barcodes, meeting quality management standards such as VietGAP, GlobalGAP. At the same time, promote, introduce, and seek stable markets for agricultural products.
Sop Cop district strives to have 4 or more products recognized as provincial-level OCOP products by the end of 2025, 15 safe agricultural product supply chains; over 50 hectares of fruit trees grown organically, meeting VietGAP standards..., contributing to increasing productivity, product value, and income for producers.
