Son La recognizes 7 products meeting 4-star OCOP standards

On June 13, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial OCOP Council chaired the 1st Conference on evaluating and classifying OCOP products in 2025. Attending the conference were representatives of provincial departments, branches, enterprises and cooperatives whose products were evaluated.

Implementing the OCOP program "One Commune One Product", phase 1 in 2025, Yen Chau and Thuan Chau districts proposed to evaluate and recognize 5 products, including: Kien Cuong Ruby Plum of Kien Cuong Cooperative, Phieng Khoai Commune, Yen Chau District; On Oc Snow Shan Tea of ​​Tay Bac Cooperative, Yen Chau District; Diep Bach Black Garlic of Tay Bac Cooperative; Hoshi Black Garlic of Bao Gia 26 Company Limited; Thu Dan Tea of ​​Thu Dan Tea Company Limited, Thuan Chau District. 2 4-star OCOP products were evaluated and recognized again, including: Community Tourism Services, Ecotourism and Tourist Spots, Pha Din Tourism Cooperative of Pha Din Tourism Cooperative and Thu Dan Oolong Tea of ​​Thu Dan Tea Company Limited, Thuan Chau District.

Inspecting the products, the Council members assessed that all products met the conditions and standards for classification, recognition and re-recognition of OCOP products. The subjects focused on improving the quality, design, packaging of products, expanding the connection between producers, cooperatives, businesses and consumers. In 2025, the OCOP Council of Son La province recognized 7/7 products meeting 4-star OCOP standards.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested OCOP entities to focus on completing documents, submitting for issuance of recognition decisions according to regulations; participating in displaying and introducing products at events promoting, advertising and consuming safe agricultural products of La province. After being re-evaluated, classified and recognized, the entities need to expand production scale, apply advanced processing and production processes; promote trade promotion, especially applying digital transformation in product consumption.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment reviews recognized OCOP products, develops national 5-star OCOP products; advises, reviews, and evaluates the effectiveness of OCOP product introduction centers in districts and cities; proposes to build an effective provincial OCOP product introduction and promotion center.
