According to TechRadar , although the iPhone 16 series has not yet cooled down, rumors about the iPhone 18 have begun to emerge, revealing significant performance upgrades, but also the risk of price increases.
iPhone 18: Superior power at the cost of price?
According to a source from Taiwan, Apple may be the first smartphone company to equip the iPhone 18 series with a 2nm chip to be launched in 2026. This A20 chip is manufactured by TSMC, promising to bring superior performance compared to the previous generation.

However, this advanced technology may come at a high price. The price of the A20 chip is expected to increase by 70% compared to the A17, from $50 to $85. This could lead to a price increase for the iPhone 18, marking the first price increase since the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
It is not yet clear whether all versions of the iPhone 18 or just the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will be equipped with 2nm chips. However, with Apple's history of "racing" technology, it is entirely possible that the company will soon adopt 2nm chips.
Previously, Apple pioneered the use of 7nm chips on the iPhone XS, 5nm chips on the iPhone 12, and continued to upgrade to 4nm and 3nm on the next generations of iPhone.
Although the iPhone 18 will not officially launch until late 2026, these early rumors are enough to make the iFan community excited. Will the superior performance of the 2nm chip be enough to convince users to accept the higher price? The answer will only be in the future.
