The bizarre detail has left art enthusiasts scratching their heads, leading some to speculate whether Scotland's national poet possesses mysterious time-travel abilities - especially since the image predates the first iPhone by 125 years. However, there is also another view that it seems that the mysterious black rectangle could actually be a religious text, rather than a strange reference to time travel or the future. Photo: @R. The Daily Star reports that eagle-eyed art lovers have spotted what looks like an iPhone in a painting titled “Mr Pynchon And The Settling Of Springfield” that was created in 1937, around 70 years before the first Apple smartphone was released.
