Speaking at an event marking National Students' Day at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Brigadier General Fadavi, deputy commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said supporting the oppressed is both a religious and constitutional duty for the country.

According to Brigadier General Fadavi, Iran has stood by the oppressed for the past 45 years and will continue on this “right path.” He urged: “We should stand on the right side of history.”

The plight of the oppressed, especially in the Gaza Strip, has awakened global conscience, with protests spreading to more than 90% of countries, Mr. Fadavi said.

Commenting on the US economic sanctions against Iran, the IRGC deputy commander warned that any hostile action against Tehran will face a tough response.

Regarding tensions with Israel, on the same day, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that Tehran will respond to any military action targeting the territory and security of the Islamic Republic.

“Israel knows very well that any mistake against the Islamic Republic of Iran will be met with a painful response. However, if it stops killing innocent and oppressed people in the region, that step could affect the form and intensity of our response,” he stressed.
