The decision will take effect from May 16, ending the quarantine regulations that have been in place for more than three years since the outbreak in Israel in February 2020.
According to the announcement, the Israeli Ministry of Health recommends that people with COVID-19 isolate themselves at home and wear masks when going out. The agency also encourages Israelis to get vaccinated against COVID-19, especially vulnerable groups.
To date, Israel has recorded about 4.82 million COVID-19 cases, equivalent to more than 50% of the country's population, including 12,509 deaths.
