Kaka was dumped by his ex-wife Caroline Celico just because she thought he was "too perfect".

Kaka and Caroline Celico, his childhood sweetheart, were married for 10 years and had two children together before deciding to divorce. Caroline once shared that the reason for the breakup was not because of betrayal, but because she felt “something was missing” when Kaka was too perfect.

Meanwhile, Kaka described this marriage as a meaningful journey, but also full of challenges when faced with his wife's change of heart. "I did everything I could to save it," he confided. "When she said she didn't want to get married anymore, I clung to hope, trying to prove that we could get back what was lost. I read a book that suggested a 40-day challenge to win back the heart of my partner, and I did it twice. Gifts, handwritten letters, unexpected surprises... but in the end, she just repeated: 'I don't want it anymore'."

As a religious man, Kaka believes that marriage is a forever contract. He was living in the US when his wife made the decision, and despite trying to convince her to return to Brazil to reconcile, Kaka was unable to change Caroline's mind. "I did everything in my power to prevent the divorce," he said.

Kaka's inner battle ended when he realized an important truth. That love cannot be forced. He shared that the divorce was no less than a big shock, but love is a choice every day. And if someone stops choosing you, you have to learn to let go.

After the divorce, both Kaka and Caroline found new happiness. Kaka married Carolina Dias in 2019 and had another child, while Caroline also built her own family.
