“Small Plan” is forever the pride of generations of Vietnamese children.

On December 2, at Nguyen Thuong Hien Primary School ( Hai Phong city), the Central Council of the Young Pioneers organized a program to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the "Small Plan" movement (December 2, 1958 - December 2, 2023) with the theme "Small Plan - Great Meaning".

The “Small Plan” movement is a major movement of Vietnamese children born in 1958 by the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team organized by the initiative of children in Hai Phong city and Son Tay province (now Hanoi city). 65 years have passed, the “Small Plan” movement is forever the pride of generations of Vietnamese children.

From the movement of collecting scrap, waste products, collecting scrap paper, broken bottles, plastic bags... to make the "Small Plan" in the past, it has contributed to the construction of thousands of works named after the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers such as the Young Pioneers Plastic Factory, the train running on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City Unification Railway, the Red Scarf Hotel, and the restoration of the historical site of the tomb of Hero Kim Dong - the first captain of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers...

According to Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, from 2018 to present, through the "Small Plan" movement, children across the country have collected more than 8.2 million tons of waste paper to build the "Young Pioneers Fund" and help poor children overcome difficulties.

The children also donated to build more than 1,300 school bookshelves; raised more than 7,000 "Red Scarf Chickens" (each flock had 20 chickens); built more than 7,000 playgrounds, children's welfare projects and 170 Red Scarf houses.

Many localities and units have had creative ways and good models with good educational effectiveness, creating support and consensus from families and schools such as "Vegetable garden I take care of", "Bicycles help friends go to school", "Rice bags for friends", "Raising piggy banks to help friends go to school", "One million notebooks for friends", "Space for reading, interaction and Team activities", "Small Planning House"...

At the program, the Organizing Committee commended and rewarded 65 provincial and district-level Youth Union Councils and Unions with outstanding achievements in implementing the movement for the period 2018 - 2023.

On this occasion, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers presented a water filter, a basketball pole, 20 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND) and many gifts to 20 disadvantaged students of Nguyen Thuong Hien Primary School.

Within the framework of the program, team members, teenagers and children also participated in many response activities such as: Small Plan Collection Festival; Exhibition of products and models from the "Small Plan" movement; fun and experiential activities...

At the program, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers also officially launched and implemented the "Small Plan" movement for the period 2023 - 2028 with many rich contents, including continuing to research good models, creative and effective ways to widely deploy in Young Pioneers' bases, at the same time, flexibly applying appropriate methods and solutions, creating consensus among families, schools and society in implementing the movement; focusing on guiding children to participate in the movement with a proactive spirit, helping them understand and perceive correctly the meaning and value of the movement./.
