Despite the cold weather, rice planters still wake up early to go to the fields in Quynh Doi commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province to work. After a long tiring day in the fields, their backs are bent, the planters happily divide their wages, each taking home half a million.
At this time, people in Nghe An are actively going to the fields to plant winter-spring rice. The vast fields in Nghe An are gradually turning green. Many places, due to lack of labor, have to hire rice planters to keep up with the season. That is why rice planters are in high demand. They also take advantage of the time to earn some extra money to buy Tet gifts for their families.

In the fields of Quynh Doi Commune, Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province, people are also busy going to the fields. According to the people, the winter-spring rice planting period only lasts about 2 weeks. Many households with limited resources are forced to hire workers to plant rice in time for the rice to grow.
Mr. Ho Van Nam (residing in Quynh Doi commune) said that because the seedlings (young rice) are already good, if we do not plant them, the rice will not have time to grow. My family has 6 sao of land, and there are only 2 people in the house, so we have to hire workers to plant them in time for the season.

In the fields of Quynh Doi commune, there are also many groups of hired rice transplanters working. After completing her family's rice field work, Ms. Nguyen Thi Oanh (living in Quynh Giang commune, Quynh Luu, Nghe An) and her group go to all the fields in and outside the district to receive hired rice transplanters. Whenever someone hires them, Ms. Oanh's group will arrange the schedule, negotiate the price, the form of work, and then accept the job.

Working all day in the fields in Quynh Doi commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, rice planters are still happy because at the end of the day they divide their wages. Each person receives half a million dong, giving them more money to prepare for Tet for their families. Photo: NT
Ms. Tran Thi Thuong (living in Quynh Giang commune, Quynh Luu, Nghe An) said that anyone can work as a rice planter. However, the most important thing is good health because this job is quite hard. Having to bend down all day to plant rice, then wade through muddy fields all day makes the knees tired and the back hurts.
At the end of the day, the group of hired rice planters gathered to divide the wages. Some received half a million dong and happily returned home after a hard day. Although their knees were tired and their backs ached, they still had extra income. Each crop, hired rice planters can "work" for more than 10 days and receive about 4 to 5 million dong, which is used to buy Tet gifts for their families.
