Control blood sugar from daily nutrition
Nutrition is an important factor but not easy to implement for many patients. Experts from the Clinical Nutrition Center, Bach Mai Hospital share the principles to follow: Maintain a healthy weight, divide meals reasonably and have stable meal times, need to eat enough carbohydrates, increase fiber intake and eat a variety of foods.
In modern life, using specialized oral nutritional products with complete formulas, suitable for the needs of patients, is a way to help supplement nutrition and support blood sugar control.
According to Abbott, studies show that specialized nutritional supplements can reduce HbA1c by up to 1.1% after 6 months when used in combination with a modified diet and motivational counseling, thereby helping to reduce the risk of complications.

Besides regular exercise and taking medication as directed, daily nutrition plays a very important role.
Convenient, painless blood sugar monitoring with advanced technology
Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Technology Update Workshop. The technology provides a comprehensive picture of blood sugar throughout the day, showing both high and low blood sugar and blood sugar fluctuations. Patients can also know the trend of blood sugar changes to proactively adjust their lifestyle and choose a suitable diet.

CGM technology helps monitor blood sugar and proactively adjust lifestyle
Ms. Thanh Huyen, an office worker, said: "I have been using CGM for 5 years. Thanks to this device, I know exactly how much I eat, what foods I should reduce, and how I should change. The device also helps me reduce stress when living with the disease, because I no longer have to have blood drawn regularly."
This technology also helps doctors grasp the patient's condition to make more appropriate treatment decisions, improving treatment effectiveness. CGM has been recommended by the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the Ministry of Health and the Vietnam Endocrine and Diabetes Association for use in diabetic patients, especially diabetic patients on insulin treatment, patients with hypoglycemia or poor blood sugar control.
Attendees were shown how to monitor blood glucose using the FreeStyle Libre CGM device and experienced how to use the technology to monitor blood glucose daily . Currently, more than 7 million people worldwide are using this technology in more than 60 countries, including Vietnam.
The activity was co-organized by the Department of Endocrinology - Diabetes, Bach Mai Hospital , the Vietnam Nutrition Association and Abbott, contributing to solving health problems in Vietnam and working with the community towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Operating in Vietnam since 1995, Abbott strives to contribute to building a healthier community. Mr. Douglas Kuo, Vice President and General Director of Abbott Vietnam, shared on the occasion of Abbott's 30th anniversary of operations in Vietnam: "We are committed to contributing to improving the quality of healthcare through technology and innovation to create a healthier and more sustainable future for the people of Vietnam."
