Thanh Hoa - Ninh Binh - Nghe An are connected through the North - South "heavenly" axis, with many favorable conditions in the process of linking and developing tourism. Notably, the national park system, with rich and diverse flora and fauna, such as: Cuc Phuong (Ninh Binh), Ben En (Thanh Hoa) and Pu Mat (Nghe An). Along with that are many national and special national historical - cultural relics such as: Kim Lien special national historical relic site, Truong Bon national historical relic site (Nghe An), Hoa Lu ancient capital special national historical - cultural relic site (Ninh Binh), Lam Kinh special national historical - cultural relic site (Thanh Hoa)... Besides, many heritages have been recognized by UNESCO such as: Trang An World Cultural and Natural Heritage, Ho Dynasty Citadel World Cultural Heritage and Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity Vi, Giam folk songs of Nghe Tinh. These are extremely great potentials and advantages, making the 3 provinces become important bridges to promote the connection of green tourism journeys, in a sustainable direction.

In recent years, tourism development linkage activities between the three provinces have been increasingly focused on, focusing on developing new tourism products with cultural characteristics. Currently, a number of green tourism itineraries have begun to be implemented and are being continued to be completed by travel agencies such as: Discovering community tourism in Western Nghe An, Pu Mat National Park - Ben En National Park - Trang An; Caravan tour to explore the Ho Chi Minh trail; Journey connecting ancient Vietnamese capitals...

At the conference to promote and advertise tourism "Nghe An - Thanh Hoa - Ninh Binh: Green tourism journey" held in April 2025, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province, Vuong Thi Hai Yen, said: "Sustainable tourism, green tourism is becoming an inevitable trend globally, not only helping to protect the environment but also bringing long-term socio-economic values. In 2025, Nghe An - Thanh Hoa - Ninh Binh provinces will continue to promote the effective exploitation of linked tours, including green tourism. This is considered one of the important solutions to help the linked products of localities gradually position their brands, while catching up with the development trend in the new situation. To promote effective linkage, localities are focusing on developing "Ninh Binh Tourism - The beauty of the ancient capital", "Thanh Hoa Tourism - The scent of four seasons" and "Nghe An Tourism - Green journey".

In order to promote the development of green tourism itineraries, the three provinces will coordinate to organize famtrip programs in the coming time, with the participation of reputable travel agencies in the localities and across the country. Along with that, the localities will also research and build smart digital tourism maps, common fanpages on social networking platforms to provide information, destination services and experiential activities in each green tour. Through that, tourists can grasp specific schedules, learn about tourism services. At the same time, reflect on the shortcomings and limitations in the experience process... From there, it helps localities grasp and orient travel businesses to continue to improve tours appropriately.

Together with a number of travel agencies nationwide, up to now, Le Gia Trading and Tourism Joint Stock Company (Thanh Hoa) has launched more than 10 green tours connecting Thanh Hoa with Ninh Binh and Nghe An provinces. The focus is on exploiting cultural and community ecological tourism destinations. Deputy Director of the Company Phan Thi Ha said: “The green tourism itineraries connecting the 3 localities that Le Gia Travel builds are based on the potential and strengths of each locality. Along with that, we also focus on renewing the cultural tourism connection itineraries that have been effectively exploited in the past. However, in order for these itineraries to attract the attention of tourists and develop in a sustainable direction, businesses really need the support of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Tourism and tourism associations of localities in orienting product development, creating conditions for connection between businesses providing tourism services in each journey”.

Promoting the connection and development of green tourism itineraries between Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh and Nghe An provinces not only opens up opportunities for extensive cooperation, but also contributes to forming a sustainable value chain for the tourism industry nationwide. To realize the goal, sharing experiences and jointly building green tourism products with unique characteristics should be considered the key to creating attractive, safe and responsible green tourism itineraries.
