According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, storms No. 4 and 5 in 2022 have affected the positive slope at Km69+900 on the Cam Lo - La Son expressway. Currently, the construction unit is urgently working to fix the problem and make timely repairs before this year's rainy season.
The Traffic Safety Committee of Thua Thien- Hue province said that from June 7, it will begin organizing traffic flow and regulation to serve the implementation of construction and repair of the above-mentioned positive slope collapse point.
To ensure the safety of people and vehicles participating in traffic on the route and increase the construction time for the contractor to meet the completion schedule before the rainy and stormy season, the Traffic Safety Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province requests relevant agencies and units to coordinate in organizing the implementation of restricting trucks weighing over 10 tons from entering the Cam Lo - La Son route. Organize announcements and place signs prohibiting trucks weighing over 10 tons at the beginning of the route (QL9 intersection in Quang Tri province), at the entrances of Cau Tuan intersection (Thua Thien - Hue), TL14B intersection.
In addition, at the construction area, traffic will be stopped for 30 minutes for excavation and drainage, 15 minutes for cleaning, and 15 minutes for traffic opening. Traffic will be regulated from June 7 to July 7.
Previously, the construction work to repair the landslide had been carried out by construction units since April. At this time, the authorities did not prohibit vehicles with a load capacity of over 10 tons and only regulated traffic stops for about 15-30 minutes/time. However, this action caused vehicles to queue up, causing congestion on the route, affecting the progress of repairing the landslide. Therefore, the authorities changed the traffic regulation plan.
The Cam Lo-La Son Expressway is over 98 km long, connecting Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue provinces, and will be put into operation from the end of December 2022.
