(NLĐO) - The investor has requested the contractor to quickly complete the remediation and repair work on the unsatisfactory patched sections of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway.

On December 21st, Project Management Board 7 (PMB 7), under the Ministry of Transport , responded to the information reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper regarding the "Highway project costing over 10,000 billion VND has already been patched up haphazardly before toll collection began."

According to this unit, immediately after receiving feedback about the uneven and patched road surface on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway project operator held a meeting with the contractor and relevant parties.

Patching points due to damaged road surfaces appear in both North-South and South-North directions on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, from Km 175 to Km 160.

Project Management Board 7 stated that the asphalt concrete road surface damage mentioned in the article falls within the scope of work carried out by Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company, under Package XL03, of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet section investment and construction project.

Although Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company has promptly rectified the damage, some sections still do not meet technical and aesthetic requirements. To prevent similar incidents from occurring and causing public dissatisfaction, and to ensure traffic safety on the route, especially during the upcoming Tet holiday, Project Management Board 7 requests the company to urgently carry out the necessary repairs.

Specifically, the contractor must urgently inspect and review the site and immediately carry out repairs and remediation of areas that have been repaired but still do not meet technical and aesthetic requirements, as well as other areas if there is a risk of future damage, which fall under the contractor's construction warranty responsibility throughout the entire scope of work performed under Package XL03.

The surface of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway has several sections with uneven, patched-up areas.

The contractor is required to report the implementation plan to the Road Management Office IV.1, Project Management Board 7, and the supervisory consultant for inspection, monitoring, and to ensure the completion of remediation and repair work before December 27, 2024.

During implementation, the contractor must strictly adhere to the approved traffic safety measures to ensure the safety of vehicles in transit. The contractor will be fully responsible to the Ministry of Transport and the law if any traffic safety incidents occur.

Project Management Board 7 also requested the Supervision Consultant to inspect, urge, and supervise the contractor's implementation process and required the contractor to strictly adhere to the approved construction organization plan throughout the implementation process to ensure traffic safety.
