Since early morning, the check-in area of Sun PhuQuoc Airways at major airports in Hanoi , Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City has been bustling. The welcome gate “1st Flight – 1.11.2025” with the red and yellow colors typical of Sun PhuQuoc Airways stands out in the middle of the terminal.

Many passengers enjoyed capturing the memorable moment when they held the first boarding pass with the “First Flight” stamp. Mr. Duc Long (Hanoi) shared: “I booked tickets on the first day the airline opened for sale. Having another option to fly with a Vietnamese airline is something worth supporting.”

The staff in branded uniforms warmly welcomed and assisted customers with check-in procedures. “I was quite impressed by the detailed and friendly instructions from the staff. The procedures were completed very quickly and professionally,” commented Ms. Hong Phuc (HCMC).

At exactly 7:15 a.m., flight number 9G1203 departed Noi Bai airport runway, bringing the first passengers to Phu Quoc on Airbus A321. The next flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang also quickly took off, all heading to the Pearl Island on the first day of the airline's official commercial operation.

On the flight, each seat was given a souvenir set bearing the airline’s Sun logo. Many passengers were delighted with the cute gift and did not forget to take a souvenir photo with friends and family.

All passengers on the first flights were served cakes from Maison Kayser, a famous French bakery brand with nearly three decades of global development. Many passengers who love this bakery brand said that enjoying “a global culinary icon” like Maison Kayser on a flight is a very different and classy thing for Sun PhuQuoc Airways.

On the first flight from Hanoi to Phu Quoc, passengers were also given a “musical gift” performed live by violinist Minh Thuy. Amidst the clouds, familiar melodies of O Sole Mio, Danuyp or Hanoi 12 Seasons of Flowers, Remembering Autumn in Hanoi,... resounded, bringing passengers a relaxing and warm atmosphere.

Many tourists also spend time exploring the SPA magazine and SPA Visit Phu Quoc guidebook - two bilingual publications published exclusively on Sun PhuQuoc Airways flights, helping passengers visualize more clearly the destination they are about to land. "Thanks to this publication, I have time to mark some places to visit. Very useful," said Ms. Minh Hanh (HCMC).

At 9:20 a.m., the first flight landed at Phu Quoc International Airport with a water cannon welcome ceremony. The first passengers were warmly welcomed by local representatives and Sun PhuQuoc Airways.
Mascot “Sunny” in captain and flight attendant costumes stirred up the welcoming atmosphere with dances and friendly handshakes.

Many travelers shared that after the flight, they were impressed with the professional and dedicated service as well as the uniform of the flight crew and hoped that the airline will soon have more flights and routes so that customers have more options.

The Da Nang – Phu Quoc route is a special welcome flight on the occasion of its opening, expected to be put into regular operation from March 2026. From now until the end of 2025, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will officially operate three domestic routes: Phu Quoc – Hanoi, Phu Quoc – Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City.
