International visitors to Vietnam set a record high in the past 10 years

According to the General Statistics Office (Ministry of Finance), in May, international visitors to Vietnam reached 1.53 million, an increase of nearly 11% over the same period in 2024 and nearly 12% compared to May 2019, the golden time of Vietnam tourism.

This number of visitors reached the highest record in May in the past 10 years.

Vietnam is gradually becoming a year-round destination for tourists, instead of being seasonal as before.

In the first 5 months of the year, international visitors reached 9.2 million, an increase of more than 21% over the same period in 2024. Of which, visitors arriving by air still accounted for a large proportion, with more than 7.4 million visitors; visitors arriving by road accounted for nearly 1.2 million, the rest were visitors by sea.

Tourism revenue in the first 5 months of 2025 is estimated at 38.4 trillion VND, accounting for 1.4% of the total and increasing by 24.7% over the same period last year.
