Book and Reading Culture Day aims to honor the value of books and further promote reading habits in families, schools, agencies, organizations and communities.

On the evening of April 20, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province held the opening ceremony of the 2nd Dong Thap Province Book and Reading Culture Day in 2023, at Van Mieu Park, Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap Province.

In his opening speech, Mr. Doan Tan Buu, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, said: With the formation of Cao Lanh Book Street, this year's Book and Reading Culture Day attracted many book stalls of publishers and distributors with a variety of books on display, rich in types, beautifully arranged, scientific and creative, attracting visitors.

It is known that this year's Book and Reading Culture Day of Dong Thap province takes place with the theme "Books for me - for you" from April 20 to 23 with many rich and attractive activities to honor the value of books, further promote the habit of reading in families, schools, agencies, organizations and communities, contributing to the propaganda of national cultural values, promoting and continuing the pride in the tradition of studiousness of the homeland of the Land of Pink Lotus.

Also at the opening ceremony, many philanthropists donated more than 30 bookcases worth nearly 350 million VND to schools in remote and border areas in the province, contributing to narrowing the gap in cultural enjoyment between regions, making Book and Reading Culture Day even more meaningful.

Book and Reading Culture Day takes place until April 22 at Vinh Long University of Technical Education (Ward 2, Vinh Long City, Vinh Long Province).
