This is an important scientific event jointly organized by the Vietnam Science Association, ICISE Center and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN, France), aiming to create an environment for in-depth exchange on the latest advances in the field of theoretical physics.
This year, the summer school gathered more than 60 scientists, postgraduates and young scientists from 22 countries and territories. Among them are countries with developed science such as: the United States, France, Germany, Japan, Russia, Australia, India, China, Denmark, Ireland, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Korea...
This is a valuable opportunity for young scientists to access the latest research topics and build networks within the global theoretical physics community.
Notably, the 2025 summer school will be supervised in person and online by many of the world's leading theoretical physics professors, including: Professor Juan Maldacena, Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, USA; Professor Andrew Strominger, Harvard University, USA; Professor Erik Verlinde, University of Amsterdam, Netherlands; Professor Dam Thanh Son, University of Chicago, USA; Professor Shiraz Minwalla, Tata Institute for Fundamental Research, India; Professor Nathan Berkovits, International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Brazil; Professor Suvrat Raju, International Center for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS), India.
In addition, the summer school also has the participation of scientists from many other prestigious universities and research institutes around the world in teaching and academic support.
Established nearly 30 years ago, the Advanced Summer School on Quantum Field Theory and Quantum Gravity was initiated by Professor Laurent Baulieu at the Cargèse Science Conference Center, Corsica, France. The Summer School has been organized for more than 14 times, attracting more than 1,000 international students and becoming a prestigious scientific event in the field of theoretical physics.
In 2023, the summer school will be held for the first time outside of France, in Vietnam. This event not only marks an important step in expanding the scope of the organization, but also helps young Vietnamese scientists access advancededucation and interact directly with leading experts.
More than just an academic forum, the summer school serves as an international scientific bridge, providing young researchers with the opportunity to discuss in depth the latest advances in quantum field theory and quantum gravity. The lectures are designed to provide a solid foundation, update cutting-edge research, and promote broad-based scientific collaboration.
This year’s event continues to be sponsored by more than 30 of the world’s leading theoretical physics professors, including four Nobel Prize winners, contributing to improving the quality of basic science. At the same time, it creates conditions for young researchers to develop their careers in the field of theoretical physics.
Vietnam’s continued hosting of the Advanced Summer School on Quantum Field Theory and Quantum Gravity demonstrates the country’s growing recognition of its role in fundamental scientific research. The ICISE Quy Nhon Center is gradually becoming an important destination for international scientific conferences and events, helping to promote research cooperation, develop scientific human resources, and contribute to the common progress of humanity.
With the participation of many outstanding scientists, the 2025 summer school promises to bring important discoveries in the field of theoretical physics, while continuing to strengthen the connection between researchers from many countries around the world.
