Leaders of Thua Thien Hue province, Da Nang city and Vietnam Railway Corporation cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Hue - Da Nang tourist train.

During the initial period of operation, the train consists of 5 modern air-conditioned soft-seat carriages and 1 community activity carriage, promising to be an impressive “mobile” check-in point for tourists. The Hue - Da Nang railway is considered one of the most beautiful routes in the country. With a travel time of about 3 hours, from the train, visitors can admire the majestic and beautiful natural scenery, where the North and South meet, with the Truong Son mountain range on one side and the immense ocean on the other.

Every day, Vietnam Railways Corporation will organize 2 pairs of trains with the numbers HD1/2 and HD3/4 between Hue and Da Nang. Specifically, in Hue, train HD1 departs from Hue station at 7:45 a.m. and arrives at Da Nang station at 10:35 a.m.; train HD3 departs from Hue station at 2:25 p.m. and arrives at Da Nang at 5:40 p.m. In Da Nang, train HD2 departs from Da Nang station at 7:50 a.m. and arrives at Hue station at 11:05 a.m.; train HD4 departs from Da Nang station at 3:00 p.m. and arrives at Hue station at 5:45 p.m.

In particular, during the opening month, Vietnam Railways Corporation applies a preferential ticket price of 150,000 VND/ticket; monthly ticket price of 900,000 VND/ticket (monthly tickets purchased at stations only) and a discount of 10% - 50% for passengers who are policy beneficiaries.

After arriving at Hue and Da Nang stations, right in front of the stations, localities have arranged an automatic bicycle rental system using QR code scanning for the convenience of tourists visiting scenic spots. In particular, Thua Thien Hue province also applies a discount support policy for organizations and individuals when visiting tourist attractions in Hue (applicable once for each train ticket). Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the opening of the train today demonstrates the determination of Thua Thien Hue province, sectors, ... in concretizing the Resolution of the Politburo on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector; Building and developing Thua Thien Hue province into a centrally-run city on the basis of preserving and promoting heritage values; Thua Thien Hue province commits to accompany and closely coordinate with the railway sector and Da Nang city to maintain the operation and effectively exploit this train route.

After the opening ceremony, Thua Thien Hue province committed to continue directing relevant agencies and units to accompany and promote the train to tourism businesses, people and tourists; mobilize businesses to have preferential service policies, support connecting other modes of transport for passengers to continue their journey; ensure train safety; at the same time promote tourism specialties on trains to attract a large number of people and domestic and foreign tourists on trains; achieve the desired goals and expectations with the meaningful name "Connecting Central Heritage".
